Well I hope that Florida realizes that Edmonton is going to come strong and fast from the drop of the puck to get that first goal. that is the biggest key to them turning the series around. Florida hasn't done a good enough job at adjusting to prevent that. They better do that in game 7, cause if OIlers score first then Panthers are done going by the trend of the these 3 games.

Doesn’t matter who wins.
The NHL loses

How so?

I can't imagine a much better marketing win for the league and the Amazon series coming out soon then the Oilers winning Monday night.

Go look at the buzz this series is creating YouTube, Reddit, Tiktok, Instagram, etc right now. It's wild. This is a marketing wet dream. The league's best player is potentially in the middle of a story book come from behind win while in the middle of a come from behind story book season... All the while it just so happens a third party just happens to be there documenting everything with straight all access cameras.

I literally couldn't write a more perfect script; could you?

Yeah the NHL wins because more games = more revenue.

You're just wrong dude.

The La Bamba thing started when Joey Moss died on October 26th 2020 as a tribute to him and the impact he had on the city and the team.
I opened this thread while watching Everybody's in LA on Netflix as Los Lobos was on playing La Bamba. It's a sign from the hockey gods that the Cup will be dragged back to Alberta for Joey and Ben.

Does anyone else find it weird the oilers and their fans are trying to retcon la bamba as this long time historic song tied to the oilers?
Joey Moss used to play it in the dressing room all the time. In recent years it was because little Ben that it become known more. I understand what you are saying but it is not a recent thing..

It'll be nice for the Oilers fans, but no one else will care.

Pretty sure that's one of the Leafs boards' many "Oilers only win because the west is bad" crew. Those guys only have 1 script.

The Oilers taking the Panthers to game 7 is probably already too much for them to bear.

Oilers are a powerhouse franchise in the nhl financially. This year the oilers tied Toronto for most revenue brought into the NHL.

It’s really crazy when you think of that fact. Small, remote, Northwestern Canadian city.

I really, really, really hope for Florida win (as a Finnish homer and Barkov worshipper:)) - but still, an amazing series, such a great thing to get to see a game 7 for the Cup! And that guy, whatshisname, McDonald? Not a bad player!
You can cheer for the ghosts of Hartikainen, Pakarinen, Joensuu, Petrell, and any other Finn that played for us during the decade of darkness.

Just remember - Finnish legend Esa Tikkanen is pulling for the oil. ;)

He is one of my all-time favorites. Not many NHLers created their own language.

"Tikkanen is famous for his Finnish-English, sometimes referred to as "Tikkanese" or "Tiki-Talk." Even members of his team often did not understand what he was saying. Wayne Gretzky once commented, "He brings something special."
