I'm rooting for Edmonton but hopefully a call like tonight will help get offsides review out of the game.

I've said it a hundred times it's the worst rule in sports. A goal should not be called back for fractions of an inch on a bang bang play like that.

It just kills the momentum of a game, it's not what the rule was meant for. Hockey is too fast for offsides to be one hundred percent correct all the time and that's ok.
Keep it or remove offsides all together.

To say making the right call hampers the game is just idiotic.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the rule gets amended in some way down the road where it’s gotta be offside by a certain margin or it won’t be called back
Doesn’t change anything.

I guess if the oilers win we’ll get a *

Agree. People think if it doesn't "feel" like it was outside it shouldn't be offside. They would rather introduce randomness and unfairness into the game

It's either offside or not, it can not be offside by this or this...

And how are they gonna figure if that margin happend or was 2 mm short?

At the end of the day, I don't see the league saying that offside goals are OK if the offside is not too big.

My hunch for Monday is now that pressure is sort of on both sides the home ice advantage really shows and Florida wins 3-1 or something along those lines. It’ll probably be a close game the entire way though. Regardless I feel pretty bad for whoever loses now. Edmonton sort of had the easy out to just get swept or lose in 5. If I’m McDavid and never go on to win a cup my biggest regret in 25 years will probably be that my team came back to force a game 7 here. In hindsight you’d rather lose this in 4 than lose in 7

They can do wonders, Marchand started seeing one around the same time he became a top player for a few seasons and iirc attributed a lot of his success to it
Well if nothing else I imagine the dude has been earning his paychecks this year. Oilers went from 31st in the league at Thanksgiving to game 7 of the SCF after being down 0-3.

The Oilers F'd up the draft system for all the other teams on their way to getting Connor McDavid & winning the cup in historic fashion

Talk about a middle finger to the rest of the league lol

Sort of like Maurice calling out Knoblauch for the idiocy of that challenge. That was really a dumb decision even if it was correct
Seems like all Maurice is a fancy suit that spits out witty remarks to the press. Would rather get a pithy rejoinder in than accept the fact that his team is on the verge of a historic feat, the wrong side of that feat.
