Biggest thing is coming out hard. Try and jump on LA hoping their minds are elsewhere. The 1st period in game 3 was way too conservative and it cost them. Come out hard, score an early goal or two, get in Quick's head and get the Kings chasing.

Richards has shown us many times how he responds to big moments in these playoffs. I would prefer Miller in the lineup and Moore on the point of the PP.
Scratching Richards would remove motivation for others? Makes no sense.
They need more motivation than trying to stay alive in the finals?

Richards is supposedly the unofficial captain of the team. Benching him at this point would be like benching Hank. It'll screw with the guys' heads.
Yeah this is true. AV has to stick with the general core but throwing in Carcillo tonight to mix it up a little bit can't hurt.
Yeah that's about all he can really do at this point. You need to bite the bullet for now and deal with stuff like Richie in the offseason.
Hopefully the Richards situation gets solved rather quickly. It's clear he is done.

while I am not advocating benching Richards at this point, if he was benched I would hope someone, like St. Louis, would step up and make a big thing of it and bring his best game. When your "captain", friend and a guy who was there helping this team get to this point, you have to take it a bit personally as not everyone on this team has showed up to every game this post season. I think it's something more impactful earlier as anyone would fear being benched, but if they lose, well, it's tough to bench anyone. But it should have a positive impact on the individual players. I don't think the time is great, but at a minimum some line juggling probably is in order and the PP needs to be re-shaped. If Richards is really out of gas, the coach needs to recognize this and limit his minutes. If he sits and the Rangers lose...AV becomes the goat. Well, a goat.
Do you guys think the media bringing up the buyout with Sather has affected Richards mentally this round? I mean Sather could have just said no comment. I think it would affect me as a player. It would be in the back of my mind.
Not one iota. Richards knew this from the beginning of the year. I hope he goes, but he's a professional through and through.
That shouldn't matter at all when you're in the SCF. This is it. This is what you play for. Nothing else outside of that should matter until it's all over.
Richards is just past his prime, I don't think it has much to do with the upcoming buyout. Or at least that isn't the main issue with him.
