I wish there WAS a ref conspiracy, honestly, because who better for the NHL to WANT to win than the spunky underdogs making their first Finals appearance in 20 years, who seemed to be on the ropes only to make a heroic comeback through an emotional turnaround based on personal tragedy?

Instead everything just...sucks.

You would think that.

But instead they like the idea of New York getting to the Finals and then getting curbstomped.

I think the NHL would actually want it to end tonight because the eyes of the sports world go to Brazil tomorrow, and the casual sports fan in the US will care more about the US Open and the NBA. The NHL has a night to themselves where the Cup can be won.
