Rangers played a mid November listless home ice 1st period and got their just desserts.

40 minutes to save the season
 
With players like Richards, Stepan, and Girardi/Staal who look like they belong in a nursing home, I'm quite shocked we stayed competitive the first 2 games. We are way too flawed but this is a sign of great things to come in future seasons when we remove the deadweight.

I don't think we are outplaying them either. Not sure where our fans are getting that from. It was an even period. People need to take off the blinders and stop pretending that we are dominating them because we have had two overtime losses.
 
If the Rangers don't win the goalie battle, they have no chance. They lost the goalie battle in the first period.
 
I can't say I'm surprised. For those of us who weren't lying to themselves; the Rangers did not have a good period. Other 1st periods, the foot speed from the outside would give the Kings problems. But it was neutralized well. The Kings have guys stacking their own blue line on the far side of the neutral zone.

Now that they have the lead, I expect the Kings will try to trap to cut down the Rangers speed.

Rangers are going to have to try to match the Kings physically, if they want a chance imo.
 
The Kings are the worst interferers in the league. This game will be a frustrating game of manhandling the Rangers now. What a ****ing joke. I hate this sport sometimes. We need to get rid of the refs that don't call ****. It KILLS the sport. That was a boring and ugly period of hockey, no skating, no flow, I'd say the same if we were up. What a ****ing joke this league is. I can't believe so many Rangers fans like the way the Kings play. Ugly ugly hockey. When they're forced to play a skating game they give up at least 3.
 
Quick has outplayed Hank. And were losing this game and the series because of it.
 
It's tough to call that a soft goal...deflection and Jeff Carter ripping a shot.

But to win the Cup Hank has to have that. Just has to. Not his fault but it is what it is.
 
Same story for 2 1/3 games now. Rangers make a mistake, Kings make them pay. That's the difference right now.

They were excellent defensively. Have no idea how its possible to dominate play and finish the period with a handful of shots on goal. It was another evenly played period.
 
After getting jobbed in game 2 i'm not even upset. I'm glad I watched them dominate the 1st period and don't care if they gave up that goal there. I'm enjoying hockey with my fav team and enjoying the HF ragers
