Poor Callahan.... I'd gladly take him back, TB can have Nash.
lol "poor Callahan". Please. He did this to himself. And we wouldn't even be here with Callahan on the team.
Frankly, I'll keep Nash over Callahan at this point.

We're apparently going to get rolled in the Finals, guys and gals, so temper your enthusiasm. We're going to be lucky to go five games with LA. Just thought I'd let you all know what I was told by everyone on the main board.

I'm the first to admit that we're underdogs here, but I don't understand the hyperbole from so many posters. I've seen more than one non-ironic "Just give the cup to LA" post, and they haven't even beaten Chicago yet. Maybe this explains why some people lose so much money gambling.
Sorry to derail the thread a bit, but the 1987 Jets collapse, being up 20-10 on the Browns in the playoffs with about 3 minutes left, and losing, was even worse.
Great post. I admit I am not the biggest hockey fan, I wish I could dedicate more time to the Rangers, but seeing them preform in the face of adversity was so great. The Rangers played their hearts out. Seeing your guys passion is amazing, I can't help but feel happy for you. Definitely felt it when you mentioned me Jets.
WE WANT THE CUP!
Same age and fourth time for me to see the Rangers in the finals as well. 71-72 beaten by the Bruins in 6. 78-79--lost to Montreal in 5. 93-94--won the cup finally against the Canucks and now 13-14 still needs to be decided but we're going to be there.
I'm not even pissed off at Brad Richards anymore. Or Rick Nash. And at this point the St. Louis deal just about looks worth it. If Richards and company can somehow manage to win the cup I don't think I'm even going to ***** if they don't buy his contract out even if those last 3 years of it are horrible.
It's not over. I think our biggest challenge is coming. I think it will be the Kings and they are a grind it out team and deeper depth wise than any team we've faced until now. They can roll 4 lines and 3 defense pairs without a problem. Multiple guys who can finish and big stars like Kopitar and Doughty and a great goalie in Quick. Their lineup is dotted with guys who won the cup in 2012--so they know what it takes. The Rangers have shut down Giroux and Crosby--and quietened Malkin a bit and Subban didn't do much damage so that will be key for us--to keep Kopitar-Gaborik and Carter's numbers down and a close eye on Doughty. Kings have a ferocious forecheck as well. A very physical team.
Must watch the CBC coverage and handshakes... 10x better then NBC
LETS GO RAN-GERS!!!!!
Been a Rangers fan since i was a little tyke in grammer school. We couldnt get cable in my section of the bronx growing up, so i owuld watch the games whenever channel 9 would air them. I watched every minute in '94 from the ground round in yonkers. When game 7 came around, my friends and I couldnt afford tix, but we wanted to be close to the garder. We ended up watching the game at Cafe 22 or something like that. its right across the street from the garden. As the final buzzer sounded, my hands were up in high fiving strangers, someone swung the chandalier, hit me in the hand and sliced my hand. i didnt care, bought a bootleg stanley cup tshirt and wrapped it around my hand and continued the celebration. 8 stitches later that night, i forever have the scar on my hand that will always take me back to that kick ass night.
I will gladly sacrafice more stitches on my other hand, if it ensures us another cup![]()
As an older poster who at times has battled here with the younger generation I am really happy you guys will get to experience whats up next you all deserve it.
