Not really here to debate it or highjack the thread. It doesn't matter the reason. Players that have left via free agency that have done way more for their teams than Kessel have been the subject of boos as well. Wings fans booed Fedorov and he was on several Cup winning teams. Like I said doesn't make it right or wrong. It happens.

Lot of history behind why feds was booed. Bad example..

I just saw the replay, looks like the puck got lost in the refs skates and Marner picked it up and took it to the net. Not really magic, but you can't really fault him for the ref being in the way. Why they need 4 refs on the ice in 5on5 is beyond me, let alone in 3on3 OT hockey.

Even with everyone healthy, they haven't been good this season. Take any metric or stat you want, they have underachieved the whole season. The injuries just magnify the problems.
