Well I mentioned weeks back we'd find out what this team is with LDN X4, WSR, NB X2, OTT, FLT, GUE as the upcoming schedule & they go 7-1-2.

Hell of a stretch from the boys who proved they are right at the top of this league & can play with anybody.

Now. If they don't stop pulling this sh*t they'll lose in catastrophic fashion in the playoffs.

hopefully everything is good with Letang & they can enjoy these couple days off. Well earned

I honestly felt like our guys were trying to pad their stats tonight and it backfired... Sarnia's mistakes are learnable and if they clean it up the sky is the limit.

Oh I fully agree. When they play focused & hard they're unbelievable. When they stop skating & start being fancy all hell breaks loose. I'd like to really think in the playoffs it won't be an issue but we've seen it far to often lately & we will probably see it again with no more heavy hitters upcoming.

So true but honestly though aren’t we used to it by now, all these years later 🤣 take a win anyway we can get em
We’ll all be there watching them stagger through these 9 winnable games ahead.
I really don’t believe they will win them all - sometimes bad luck can beat you. Please just don’t get outworked by teams that you ought to beat.

Superb weekend from Kyrou. 2G, 4A, +6. In just 29 games with us he has 10 goals. Puts him at 18 goals. He's such a wonderful skater & passer. Has his brothers creativity too.

Del Mastro back to back 3A games. Has 27 Assists in 23 games with us, 31 points in total.

Talk about bolstering your blue line.

Although I do not prefer to play like crap and still win, it is impressive that we can go ahead and toss up 9 goals while playing significantly below our skill level. Imagine if Sarnia played Windsor the same way they played London the night before? Would have been 15-6 lol.

I just love all the bantering on the opposing board about how our D is nothing special in their eyes. It’s like only Windsor was allowed to have a bad game, not Sarnia. Gaudreau in net and they would have maybe scored 2-3 instead of the 6 WSR had. Surzycia started off good and kept his team afloat but man, some of those goals were pretty weak imo.

Off game for the Sting but still put up 9 goals…that says something….but hey, nothing special :sarcasm:

lol this is why I stay off other boards. I was on Windsors for a second and saw a conspiracy theory about the league wanting Sarnia to win. Wild considering our history..... Ive watched Sarnia not get a call for the last 25 years and the one year we do it's a conspiracy theory lol Windsor and London are nuts. Must be a hard pill to swallow to know Sarnia is better.

“Windsor has to beat Sarnia and the refs”

Windsor 5 power plays
Sarnia 2 power plays

Not sure why you mentioned London here....I read everything on the London board and never once seen this mentioned....but anyway,...

Sarnia has proven they belong in the the Western Conference 3 horse race, and could possibly even be the team to beat at this point considering the strength of their special teams.

Having said that, however, keep in mind that they did have a notable scheduling advantage over both London and Windsor this week when Windsor and London had to play each other in an emotional Thursday evening tilt, while Sarnia had the night off.

Not making excuses, just don't want you Sarnia fans to get too overconfident just yet. ;)

Looking forward to an exciting playoff year, with what I see as 3 equally deserving teams battling it out for the right to square up against (likely) Ottawa in the OHL final! I just hope the Knights can hold on to top spot and let Windsor and Sarnia wear each other down prior the the Western Conference Final. ;)

Cheers!

Yeah, London loses to Sarnia, posters express no "woe is me" attitude. Instead, Knights posters compliment the Sting as outclassing the Knights in that game, fully deserving the 2 points, praising the Sting effort. I bet Sting Updates, Ferda, DWheeler, and the rest of pollen nation were blushing with all the outpouring of praise. Lol!
Sarnia has won me over. If we get eliminated, I'd like to see you guys win the West.

It's 3 great teams. Do I think if all 3 played their absolute best we'd come out on top? Yes I do. I think we are the most balanced & have the highest ceiling.

WSR is loaded up front. They are so skilled & lethal. But they give up a crap ton & all their fans say that. They have almost given up more goals than 10th place Erie. Which is pretty wild.

Maybe Savard really tries to crack down on it for playoffs but from reading their board this is sort of his style. Still a helluva team that can beat anybody if their firing on all cylinders. Don't discount their championship experience from last yr too.

LDN for me is like a less talented us. They're so structured, discipline & smart. You have to earn everything. Don't have 3-4-5 elite Fs & that's where I think we are slightly better, but as we've seen they play as one. Their passing, cohesion, teamwork is the best in the conference. Just is it enough to overcome not having superstars that us & wsr have.

While I'm praising us, those teams haven't had the issues we've had with holding leads/getting cocky. They have been for more consistent throughout games & that's a great traits & something we better fix if we are to meet either one.

And it's Sarnia at the end of the day. History tells us we will find ways to lose & those 2 teams will find ways to win. I don't blame anybody from any board if they say "gotta see it to believe it" or "it's Sarnia I'm not picking them" haha. We'll have to prove it.

I greatly look forward to it all. Should be some unbelievable hockey.

Yes and no. Savard has systems in place that produce strong D, but the players really have to buy in. On numerous occasions, he's said "stick to the systems" and "play the right way", but sometimes they stray from that and it costs them. With that said, I'll be more worried if they struggle in the post-season once a full roster is back. It feels like they've had a new regular out of the lineup every week.

Most definitely. We know all to well what that was like early in the season. We were down to 4D for weeks then got the D back & multiple Fs went out.

Just terrible timing for u guys & it sounds like it's fairly severe for Peer & Spellacy?

I think what Sarnia and Windsor fans forget that the teams under them are all playing solid hockey right now. Who do you want in the first round? Flint, Guelph, Owen Sound or Kitchener? I always find the first round the scariest round . Windsor got pushed in the first round last year ( can't remember who?!?!?). They played much better D hockey after that round. Windsor has lots of returning players with something to prove but you never never know. Sarnia needs to be ready for that as well. Not too long until test day.

Most definitely. Saginaw is the easiest matchup imo. After that they are all tough. Nobody will be a sweep I don't think. flt is catching fire. KIT is maybe (?) Looking better. GUE been good for 2 months. OS is a tough one. They've really been sliding but the roster is really solid.

We (I especially) gave Sikic a hard time in the opening months just because I expected a lot from him, but he's been fantastic for quite awhile now.

He's one of the best 2way players in the league. He always, always is backchecking his ass off & disrupting plays. Does so much heavy lifting for whatever line he is on.

He's low-key a very slick, crafty passer. Has a lot of nice Assists this year. He still struggles with finishing at times (he could have 30+ goals with some finish lol), but he's a major piece for this team & very quietly has 29 points & is +13 in his last 32 games.

Everything I heard about Spellacy, even right after the injury, was it was a season thing. The way Savard put it was he would be "out for a bit", which was a unique word choice given he usually says "day to day" or "hopefully next weekend."
