Surzycia starting. It may backfire but this is the right call imo. He earned the start. Hopefully he builds on last night & gives us a solid start

What an absolute f*cking joke. That's a 5 every day of the week. SAME guy that hurt Burke, too now hurts Pastujov. Idc if they get a 5 put him thru the boards next period.

MacDonell also left hurt AND Lantz kicked out.

Barrie is the dirtiest team I've seen in years. This is actually ridiculous

This club is just full of players with low hockey IQ or the coaching staff doesn’t teach them much or abit of both. Lots of little mistakes each game that cost them games and valuable points.

The guy who should've been kicked out gets the winner. Of course. Thornton was spectacular again but so was Surzycia! Hell of a weekend for him.

Proud of the effort they put out today. Already down Mast, Hoover, Burke they lose Lantz, MacDonell in the 1st then lost Pastujov for 15-ish minutes & still come back to get a point in their 3rd game in 2.5 days.

Next 2 weeks are gonna be a disaster with potentially Burke, MacDonell, Voit, Pastujov, Vilmanis, Mast, Gaudreau all out. Our luck has been truly astounding

good game.... its ok to lose if you play good and I think they played decent.... still... losing way too many games on home ice. The barn was packed and you lose.... this is the 3rd or 4th time they have lost with a big crowd.

Forgot to mention Ganudreau should stay on the bench.

Downright pathetic. Same play. Same situation, same proximity to the boards. Same fall into boards. One caused an injury. Same referee. Two wildly different calls.

With how many guys they are without i can take the point. It obviously sucks but they left it all out there. To many men penalty was incredibly frustrating but they gotta be exhausted & when your tired u take penalties unfortunately.

Sucks to lose that one especially on a goal by Punnett. Surzycia was really good again. Thornton played really well for Barrie. LOL who would have guessed! 4/6 points isn't bad but we need to start winning some of these OT/SO games. Those extra points are going to come back and bite us later on in the year. Next week is going to be super tough. Flint (Home)/Flint (Road)/Peterborough (Home) and Letang will be gone. Does anyone know when Gaudreau leaves for Canada's camp?

Huge ups to Surzycia this weekend. He played awesome. I still am not sure he's the guy to backup but he certainly earned more starts, unfortunately for him it may come with a ton of guys out vs FLT FLT PBO lol.

Real chance we'll be sitting in 7-8 come the break. I still remain confident this team can do damage in the playoffs but they gotta get healthy.. just unbelievable their luck so far.

Hopefully they get some rest over the break & we can finally & I mean finally ice a full lineup post WJCs.

I said it then. I’ll say it now. Both are incredibly dangerous and should be a 5. I don’t care if the player gets up fine or not. If Burke got 2 games then so should Punnett. His was worse. I mean I know Sting posters will probably still call it laughable and the league gone soft but I think that should get reviewed by the league and they should remain consistent and give Punnett a couple. By the way, we’ll give you a couple 3rds for your underperforming backup goaltender. Goodrow or whatever his name is.

Haha. Not happening. Cranley been more consistent anyways lol. Frustrating because it's the same ref. How can u possibly deem Burke's worse.

Loved this non call too. Once again a dirty, dangerous play by Punnett well after the puck has gone in. Right in front of the ref too. Pure idiocy

Don't forget this play either! His least vicious, dirty play of the day! Another cheapshot that should've been penalized but wasn't.

It's an Embarrassment that Clown was on the ice let alone with a chance to win it in OT

The Voit one should have been called for sure. Here’s the thing though. If the refs aren’t calling it, then one of the Sting need to address it. And they didn’t. The boarding? The cross-check on Voit? Those can’t go unaddressed. Sarnia might need to go acquire a little more bite than 17yo Angus MacDonnell.

MacDonald fought him after the dirty hit. The voit one is tough cause we literally just scored to tie it.
MacDonell had left the game hurt already unfortunately. They miss Hoover a lot in that department. He's like Guryev (just not as good) haha

doesn't help Romeo & Dillingham are coming off injuries suffered in fights. They'd probably love to throw them but can't risk another injury.

but I do agree. Another tough guy should be in the cards. Be great if he could also score a bit.

You need multiple tough guys in this league now because they only get to stick up for their star players 3 times in 68 games before they get suspended. I get the rule. I understand why it’s there. I can even live with it but it needs to be more like 5-6 games.

They need to add a Ryder McIntyre type..

I'll see myself out

Another great weekend for Fischer who now has 2G/2A & is +4 in his first 9 games. Not sure you could've asked for more than what he's given the team.

Been incredibly impressive. If this team ever gets healthy it's legitimately gonna be a hard choice as to who to sit. He's been one of our best D since arriving IMO. So much to like in his game. Gonna be a pillar on the backend for years to come.

Just throwing this out there...once Mast and Hoover are back we will have 10 D signed. Do you trade Daviault and picks to get a good return? It looks like they are playing him behind some of the rookies at the moment.
Injuries:
I hear Burke should be back for the weekend and possibly Mast with a cage.
Hoover may not be back until after Christmas break.
MacDonell hurt his neck in the corner on the PK, status unknown at the moment.
Damn, I wish we played Barrie again with a full lineup. But yes we perhaps could use a heavy weight to help keep Voit, Pasta and Burke safe the rest of the way. Love Angus and Hoover but although totally fearless, they are middleweights.

Great to hear. All I want for Christmas is this team to get healthy.. haha. Just been absurd how often somebody has gotten hurt almost all on innocent plays.

We sit 4 points out of 1st despite them all. 2 months ago I would've scoffed at the idea of trading Daviault, but honestly u might be right. He hasn't been very good lately.

Fischer has been better then obviously Mast, Romeo, Dillingham, Ritchie are all in front of him. MacDonald has been fine, Young has been solid & Hoover was playing really well until his injury/illness.

What a travesty. Feel for Ty & Sasha who I'm not sure could've done anything more to deserve at the very least an invite.

Typical US politics as Buzzy said a few days ago. It's great for us but what a joke.

I would have been willing to sacrifice a couple pts to watch those two in World JR's. Feel really bad for them. USA hockey is obv trying to send a message to keep kids away from CHL. No other reason I can think of.

No one should be surprised. You guys kept talking like they would be gone and I kept thinking their chances were 50/50 AT BEST. There’s enough talent in the States that being vindictive and short-sighted won’t downgrade the team too much but I’m not sure they can find 4 lines that are all better and suit team composition better than Sasha and Ty. It’s typical of USA Hockey and coming home with Bronze or less won’t change their thinking.

Pastujov was on last years team too & performed well. Makes no sense. They at least warranted an invite.

Gotta be a gut punch for them. Hopefully they can use it as motivation.

Sucks for Ty and Sasha. It's typical of the US, they push playing in their country like Russia does. As you said, hopefully they tear it up with us over the next few weeks just to stick it to them.
