Would be worth it from Mississauga perspective IMO. They won’t get a better 16 year old than Martone. If they have to make Hardie available for a few extra draft picks and maybe a younger D like MacDonald in order to make the deal to happen, then I think they’d do it.

Could definitely see why they'd do it. Be a dream scenario honestly. I still don't think we give up Dillingham unless he's physically unable to play.

As for cards I have no clue. Niagara has made 400 trades & keep making em so I'd assume we r fine. Haha.

I don’t think they made the wrong choice. Like @robp1219 said, after Ben’s performance in the playoffs and his ability to steal us games at times behind a horrendous defense, you would have to agree the Sting made the right choice at the time. No one expected what we’ve seen so far from Gaudreau, not to this extent at least. Certainly is frustrating beyond a doubt…especially when we are desperately trying to make a run. Such a Sarnia Sting thing to happen. 🙄
More of a hindsight comment from me. Don't think they made the wrong choice at the time but if they had a do over on the Thornton trade today they would take back that move

Game is pretty much sold out Friday. Very intrigued to see London finally. On paper they pose very little threat, but Hunter has them playing some elite team hockey.

Optimistic Mast will be back which will be a big boost. Hopefully Surzycia can pickup where he left off.

Gonna be an emotional weekend for the London players I imagine, especially the game back in LDN after the past few weeks.

Ya I hope Suryzcia can play solid steady hockey in net.

It will also be interesting to see who is scratched (traded) if the rumors are true.

Might not see anybody scratched (that's involved). Kyrou said he knew for weeks Erie was trading him but he kept playing.

Gonna be so interesting to see what deals go down in the coming days. Flint, Windsor, Owen Sound have been so quiet lately. I'm waiting for them to strike, but the market is becoming really thin. Kitchener has already added a ton but I doubt they are done. London was rumoured to be in on a few guys, but do they wanna pay up when their core is mainly younger guys.

That's not even mentioning Ottawa who's got all the ammo in the world to go add 3 or 4 players (sounds like they are swinging big), Peterborough who's going for it, North Bay who's primed for a long playoff run & Barrie who may add if Clarke is returned.

There might be some surprise additions/sellers but as of now it definitely seems like come January 11th (day after deadline) we will look at some teams & think, wow they didn't do much. Which isn't the end of the world by any means but the less teams adding in the west the better it is for us lol.

If I was a petty man I'd say this USA team lacks some high-end talent & it'll be a big reason why they are losing 5-2 to Slovakia.

But I'm not so I won't say that they made an egregious, stupid, mind numbing error not bringing Voit & Pastujov.....
I wonder if players who opt for OHL/CHL are given less consideration??

Hoover seen practicing on a Sting Instagram post from earlier today. I couldn't see Mast in the post
Yah was hoping to see Mast. Would seem unlikely he's still out with the broken jaw. Been more than enough time for it to be healed.

Didn't show a few guys so hopefully just didn't catch him for a photo. Great to see Hoover though. He was playing some good, steady hockey for us before being out. Missed his physicality a ton.

Gaudreau gets the start tonight vs Austria. Figured since it’s the 2nd of a back to back. Not sure how much redeeming one can do vs a team like Austria who has 21 shots through 2 games. None the less, hopefully this helps his confidence in whatever way possible.

Let’s hope it boosts his confidence, certainly can use it for when he gets back. Something has definitely happened that his game has changed so dramatically

I believe it's all mental. He looks like a kid not having fun. His reactions after goals are one of a kid who's like what the hell is wrong with me. How many times just in the last month has he been going pretty well then allowed 1 goal which became 2, 3 & 4 in a matter of minutes? Usually a sign of a guy who has no confidence in himself as once 1 goes in he thinks here we go again..

He said when he got to WJC he was having a rough year & his confidence was low. He's probably never had to go thru something like this. He's been highly touted for years. Even when his stats were bad before u could place blame on the team sucking.

Can't do that this season & I think he's one of those guys that puts a ton of pressure on himself which can be dangerous when u struggle this much. Really do think he needs a reset/break just to escape hockey for a little & this week off should've been it but his play at the U18 got him an invite so he didn't get it. He'll have to work his way out of it now. Hopefully it begins tonight.

I would almost guarantee it’s Milic. I’m completely fine with that. I’m fine with Ben parked on the bench the rest of the tournament. He wasn’t tested at all tonight but he made the saves he had to and got the the shutout and the win. Regardless of the opponent it must feel good and must feel good smiling and celebrating with friends/teammates after the game. Now he should be able to relax until he comes back to sarnia. Unless Milic has a dud game which is very possible.

Well he did what one would expect. Good for Ben, although not tested much. Was good to see him positionally sound and confident in his movements. No fumbles or misplays. Unfortunately, I just don’t see any way he gets the nod Saturday. If they are assessing based off the two games each goalie was given like they originally said, then Milic would be the starter vs Sweden.
