Regardless of how this series ends I have not liked the way Sarnia has played this series... flat, no energy, mistakes, penalties, un-prepared, out-worked... We'd be toast if we were playing Kitchener right now. Let's hope they can turn it on here and get the W.

Unreal. Dominating the entire period & they come down & score. What a putrid giveaway by Ritchie.

Completely agree, they are by far the more skilled team and it shows, but my god stop passing the puck and shoot, and get a screen or rebound. They never hussle to pucks, It’s like they are playing pick up. If Letang is ok with this type of play in playoffs then he shouldn’t be the man behind the bench. This might win you regular season games but it doesn’t win you series in playoffs.

Storm fan here. What you just said is exactly what I say about the Storm.

Of course Sarnia would lose this game.... big crowd, tons of energy with a chance to move to round 2 and a complete flop. 5 on 5 play is shockingly bad and tbh it has me a bit worried...Guelph is working much harder than Sarnia, I understand we out shot them but we didn't have many legit scoring chances... Pastujov has been a complete ghost this series. Game 6 back in Guelph .... anything can happen at this point now. But at least our coaches look cute with matching yellow ties.

Yep Guelph just clogs the centre of the ice in their own zone and the sting keep trying to make pretty cross ice passes that don’t work. Try and get shots through with guys out front. Their hussle needs to pick up big time. I have a feeling all the coaches are saying is “keep playing your game, it will come” which shouldn’t be the message from them.

Guelph is mucking up the play and Sarnia's fancy dink and dunk hockey isnt working.... Pastujov has played 9 playoffs games and has 1 goal. You need to be able to take your game to the next level come playoffs... not sure he's got the toughness to do it.... I hope im wrong. just a brutal game to lose.

Kyrou and Ritchie look they they're trying to do too much and end up out of position and coughing up the puck. Is it just me or is DelMastro carrying the puck way more than regular season ? He appears to be running on fumes before the game is over . Sure is noticeable not having Dilly keeping the Storm honest

The entire team came out flat, perhaps the illness has spread like wildfire.
Officiating still atrocious & seems to get worse each game but definitely not an excuse for the loss. I don’t think I could even count how many turnovers / giveaways Kyrou had, not to mention his leisurely skates back to defend after pinching in and loosing the puck. I’m all for an offensive d-man but not sure Kyrou realizes that’s his position half the time. The list goes on and on of how we blew this game but loosing on 17 shots is just inexcusable.

Anyone see what happen to Ritchie at the end. He left part way through the 3rd
He got tripped & fell awkwardly. He got up & looked down. Something didn't feel right obviously. Seem to skate off ok with nothing noticeable hurting.

Maybe got a skate cut? If he goes down they'd be in serious trouble Sunday with Dillingham & Hoover already out. 77 would play 35 minutes.

Edit: Ritchie got stepped on & got cut. Top of his foot. That's not good whatsoever. If he needs stitches (probably does) hard to believe he'd be able to wear all the gear + tie his skates as tight as they need to be & play.

Why I am a Sting fan? This team never fails to disappoint. The top 6 was did absolutely nothing all night again. PP looks out of sorts. Gaudreau got hung out to dry on both goals. Shots were so misleading. Everything was from the outside with no traffic in front of Leaver. Guelph had more high quality chances than the Sting did. Time to show some urgency on Sunday. I honestly feel like Sunday is game 7 for Sarnia. If they don't win then they're not winning on Tuesday night. We're better than Guelph when everyone is giving it their all. But we're not seeing that from a lot of the players. I think @StingUpdates fears of the light schedule at end of the regular season are coming true. They played bad teams and that allowed bad habits to creep in. Those habits are rearing their ugly head now

I'm not gonna panic yet. Should I be? Oh probably. We've watched the last 2 nights. Sarnia has had the puck 80% of the game. GUE had 1 shot in the 3rd until the empty net goal. I think they had 10 scoring chances the last 2 games combined.

This is with us all acknowledging the Sting aren't playing as good as they can. Props to GUE their season is on the line & they're playing like it with all these blocked shots.

No doubt the T6 the last 2 games blew it. They aren't getting to the net whatsoever. All been perimeter. The 3rd line was our best line again & Letang was a fool to not be double shifting them over the top 2 lines (oh god that sounds eerily reminiscent of 2018 lmao)

Some guys are sick. Chemistry & overall pace of play has been thrown off because of it. No excuse for the PP to go from near 40% for 3 months to under 20 vs the league's 2nd worst PK unit all yr though. Feels like a damn tradition for the PP to be absolute garbage come April.

GUEs strategy is simple. Get a lead & pray to the heavens we don't tie it. They don't even try to generate. Get a f*cking lead & make them chase the game Sunday.

If Ritchie is out it'll be majorly problematic though. We'd have 3 rookies playing D. 77/3/61 would play the entire game. Fingers crossed it wasn't a bad cut & he's good to go. Day off in between will be big for some of the guys.

Sarnia is giving a regular season effort and Guelph is giving a playoff effort ... Guelph's coaches and managers have a ton of post season and memorial cup experience while Sarnia has none. This may be the first time ever Sarnia's bench has been in the playoffs. The biggest adjustment our coaches have made is now they wear matching yellow ties... which seems childish, something id expect from a minor hockey team.

It sounds like it was a pretty bad cut for Ritchie. He had blood coming out of his skate before he even left the bench. I don't even know how that happens. Can't say I've ever seen someone get cut thru the skate. With him out potentially we are looking at

Del Mastro-Kyrou
Mast-Fischer
Young-Campbell

That’s crazy. I’ve never seen or even heard of that either. I’ve had stitches and staples numerous times and I can’t imagine having stitches on the top of my foot and putting a skate on and playing for at least a couple weeks and then it’s still gonna SUCK for a week or two after that.

Lovely. So we're looking at Del Mastro, Kyrou, and Mast playing 40 minutes each tomorrow afternoon

Least we get Dillingham back for game 7 😂😂😂. All seriousness u might see Hoover try & play. I know they were hopeful he'd be available at some point in this series but not sure if he's 100% yet.

Gonna need Gaudreau's best game. Time for him to put his stamp on the series. Discipline will be even more important. Fs gotta backcheck hard to make it easier on the D.

This team has played its best when facing adversity this season. Let's hope that trend continues tomorrow.
