Seca says "Honestly we are thrilled with how this draft turned out."

Says they coveted guys who worked tremendously hard & MacDonell, Lalkin are 5 out of 5 when it comes to work ethic combined with high end skill.

Really excited about 6th rounder Brayden DeGelas. Im shocked a kid with his size, skill, vision fell to the 6th. Sure isn't a burner but skating doesn't look bad by any means.

He & McIntyre could be a nice 1-2 punch on the RW in a few years. Size, skill, scoring ability.

What position do you think the Sting should target in the upcoming import draft? Forward, D, or goalie?

I would think you would key on a D man unless you are able to get one or two some other way. Someone previously drafted who didn't report, U18 draft, free agent or trade???

Hopefully a do it all guy. Can play top pair, PP, PK. If they can add one like that might see them ship out an OA D & keep Guy on F just for some grit, leadership.

As of now D probably is

Reesor-Nolet
Supryka-Mast
Daviault-Dillingham
Eveleigh/Nagra

So what should be a pretty good DCord I'd say. Add in Gaudreau be really hard to score on (you'd hope)

But maybe trading Supryka away & keeping Guy on F would be smarter just so we have some grit, leadership on F. They like Eveleigh alot too so get him consistent minutes.

So 3 OAs. Maybe trade 1 to give Eveleigh who they are high on some minutes.

keep Guy then the Fs are

Voit-Geci-Perreault
Guy-Namestnikov-Dann
Hill-Filak-O'Donnell
Lalkin-MacDonell-McIntyre

Degelas/Rae/Tierman

Regardless of OAs gonna be a super young forward group. 9 guys + 3 extras in 1st or 2nd year of OHL hockey.

If Gabe Perreault doesn't change his mind on the US program and come to Sarnia to play with Jacob, then I'd seriously be looking at trading Jacob for a kings ransom. Can't remember if it's the 2022 or 2023 draft cupboard that looks really weak and bare. I believe we don't own a 2nd, 4th or 5th which leaves us with a 1st and 3rd in the first 5 rounds.

I wasn't able to follow along too closely for this year drafts as i was out of town all weekend, thanks StingUpdates for the clips and all the retweets between here and twitter.

I had mentioned about Sarnia grabbing Jaxon Priddle (local boy) in the 3rd round. I was off on the round but was happy to see him picked up in the 11th. This is a kid who we will look back on in a few years and wonder how the hell we got him in the 11th. I truly believe that if covid didn't ruin his season last year, he would have went top 60 without a doubt.

Overall, it seems to be a good draft for Seca and his crew, Lets hope we can all get back to the hive in the fall.

They would be stupid not to trade Jacob before the deadline regardless of if his brother comes or not. This team is built around 03’s and 04’s. They need to trade him for a real good 04 player and abunch of draft picks. They should also look at trading 1 or 2 OA’s at the deadline too.

Yep. Love Perreault but this team is just way to young at F to compete. The 2022-2023 team will have potentially 10 of its 12 Fs returning + both goalies.

Adding good 19 year olds much like they did with Roth, Stratis should be a priority. Teams 19 year olds are Burke/Hill/Perreault/Dillingham. Realistically not great OA options (other than Perreault who wont be back)

Gaudreau should be best goalie in the league at 19. They can not waste it.

It is the 2023 draft where we lack picks.

2022- 1st, 2nd, 3rd (ER), 4th, two 5ths

2023- 1st, no 2nd, 3rd, no 4th, no 5th

2024- have all 15

2025- no 2nd but have the rest.

So if your going for it in 2023 you'd really like to have the ammunition to add big players..

Depending on the direction of this team, I want 3X 2nd for Perrault if he was to be traded.

Good skill or shoddy defending?
I'd say as it is for every unbelievable goal it's a bit of both. Not many kids could keep control like that & for me the most impressive part is how in between all that he gathers it & unloads a laser bar down.

Ya he completely sniped on the goalie so it wasn’t just the defence. Definitely abit of both.
