I'd think all they need is proof that Kane bet on an NHL game, not necessarily his own team even. That would give SJ to excuse, and I doubt the NHL or even the NHLPA would challenge it.

If the league finds proof of him betting on the NHL, the league would likely void the contract rather than the team.

I'm not interested in making Mario Ferraro available in any trade unless it brings in a legitimate 1C and Marner is not that. No Ferraro isn't worth a 1C on his own but nothing else is worth making him available from the Sharks perspective.

Spell check will do wonders for you my man. I don't think Toronto wants anything to do with evander kane, let alone giving up marner for him. The concept of spreading the dollars around and creating quality depth in their lineup is something i 100% agree with, which is why i thought signing Tavares at 11 mill or whatever it is was dumb in the first place, though obviously it's hard to turn down that kind of star power.

I think marner to a team like STL, MIN, MTL, who are quality deep teams but crave star power at the top of their lineup would be more inclined to make this type of deal with toronto, tho obviously the cap hit is an issue.

Also Ferraro is a massive upgrade on Dermott, if ferraro played in toronto and dermott SJ, Ferraro would be beloved by leafs fan base and Dermott would be somebody half of the fan base has never heard of.

Apart from the fact that this isn't true and Kassian's contract is a year shorter and would still have a smaller cap hit, I honestly believe that if the Sharks could get rid of Kane for less than the cost of a buyout they'd do it immediately. They might be waiting in the hope his contract is voided, but it's more likely no team in the league wants to trade for him.

There are organizations who promote black athletes in sports and they will tee off on the NHL for any punitive action on Kane.

The NHL does not want to have public discussions about racism. There is almost zero chance Bettman allows the contract to be voided.

kanes contract is one of the greatest value on our team and along the league.

unfortunately side shennanigans are taking away from that. but production vs what he makes on the ice is amazing value.

we dumped jones. if we can get rid of boat anchor vlasic ideal, or potentially move burns in a year we will be fine.
