I've heard multiple times that he has a good win/loss record early in seasons but I'm yet to see the peripheral stats from those starts... would be much more telling

I mean its a long season so its a good mental groove and it also makes the boys fight for him harder in front of the net.

I just hope he learns how to handle a puck as if it wasn't a grenade.

Something I find incredibly frustrating is how slow people in the media have been in recognizing how good the leafs have become defensively. You're paid to talk about hockey, would it kill you to take a few minutes to actually look at some numbers and see how good the leafs have been the last couple years at preventing shots and scoring chances?

We won't hear anything positive until they win a round or 2. People are perplexed by how the Leafs have managed to fail so many times and reach for reasons like their defense sucks or too soft because they don't know what else it could be outside of the players sucking, and can you say the MVP sucks for example?

But yeah agreed. It's painful when Overdrive or someone has a guest on who says something like "we all know the Leafs aren't good at defense" and implies we are bottom 10 and it's like..cringe
