The team has more jump since Laine joined, but this "turn around" is mostly because of Monty.
Montembeault must be a battler way he fought back to play some good games after being pulled in some bad games.
I get the opinion Montembeault is a battler. Which is good because most of netminding is mental. Why it is so hard to judge goalies.I remember his body language back when he was getting shelled under ducharme. He was bad and so was the entire team infront of him, but montembeault kept soldiering on without any hint of a meltdown in a really bad situation. I think his fight really showed in that time because he turned it around after the coaching change and he hasn't looked back.
Impressive numbers. Too bad the team in front of him don’t score more goals.Since November 10th, Monty is 6-5-1 with a 2.19 GAA and .925 save %, insane numbers when factoring in the team in front of him.
When the team in front of you quits without blinking an eye it reflects what you say.It seems that Montembeault is super great in victories or super bad in defeats, no middle ground.
Why bother fighting, risking injuries, when the team in front of you decided to give up?It seems that Montembeault is super great in victories or super bad in defeats, no middle ground.
Hughes is dropping the ball, goaltending needs to be addressed.Montembeault is right now on pace to play 65 games this year as Primeau is becoming unreliable and practically unplayable. The issue is Montembeault has never played more than 50 games as a since turning pro and that was in 2018-19. He has played around the 40 game mark the last few years. As the season goes on I'm wondering if he is going to show fatigue issues where his play dips and won't be as a consistent.
