Having re-read this thread, I am genuinely undecided about him.

What nickname should I use??? Non-Tembault is excellent but one of my life mottos is "hooray for boobies".

He is the "mon tombeau" for the adverse teams. Tomb-Bow !
Could be a good name for a battling robot of Battlebolts.
That time when Tombstone destroyed Bronco. Epic !

Some people here call him Montemblow. I'm aware of the medical status of some of us round here .. Are they feeling okay ? Yes? Sure ?

Sub .900 = Montemblow
.900 to 920 = Monty
Over .920 = Dikembe

The 3 goalie rotation is working so far. Nobody is overworked which was a major issue with Allen and Monty since neither of them are true starters.
Monty will be. And I don’t think the 3 system works at all. Goalies need reps. Especially Primeau at his age.

Still trying to get Monty done.

Says Montreal wants to solve this 3 ring goaltending circus.

If they get Monty signed, Habs might make a decision on the other 2 to make a tandem.
Allen needs to go. Monty is the starter.
I’ve been a big critic of Primeau, but he did look great in his limited time this year. This would be the year to give him his chance.

Pretty sure the Habs don’t want to finish the year with 3 goaltenders.

I’d like them to move Allen too but I can understand if they need (because teams would prefer him) to move Montembault instead. I’d guess they will « sell high » on Montembault if he is the one they trade, since we keep hearing they see upside in him.

They won’t move Monty. Besides. Then what? Sign someone else for big bucks and hope he works out? I don’t see it. If Monty is the real deal, he’s at the beginning of his prime right when he needs to be for this team.

Think it'll be like Tyson suggested
3x3
Which is super tolerable
A few days ago, a media pundit said (I don't remember which one sorry) he was asking more than what Allen got and him and the Habs were not close at all...

This is the definition of a keeper. Why giving to another team what you'll desperately need after the trade? They are hard to find, whatever a decent one or an amazing one. But also to mention Primeau is maybe developping into a good one too, we don't know yet. So Allen is too old and not that good, he's the one that need to go.

I think they sign him. He's the only Franco Quebecois starting goalie left in the league. After Fleury retires he'll be the only one period.

Monty is going good but is he the long term solution?
You trade which ever G get you the best return
At worst or at best he's the #1 G for next 3 years. The team is on rebulit anyway. He doesn't cost that much, he's good or average, he have the right age to wait another 3 years until we find better goalie than him. His value will be at top in 3 years at TDL. 3 years quiet developping time for Fowler or Dobes, or another one, no rushing young goalies into lions arena (habs team, lol).
