Apparently a shared sentiment in the FLames board is that the coaching has been a revolving door of mediocrity and according to some, this move might have been made from higher up than the GM. Sutter does have pedigree and a renewed emphasis on the forechecking game by a coach that's respected within the organization might just be the kick in the butt the team needs. and if that's really the case, why wouldn't Calgary want to get the most out of an underperforming high pick in the process?

i completely diasgree with these hockey guys saying the leafs need a winger .... the leafs need a goddamn centerman. you need to bolster the center position going into the playoffs. if you lose matthews or tavares to injury this team is just f@#$ked. and there is literally no depth down the middle. your ot gong to win a playoff series with kerfoot or engvall or even nylander as your number 2 center.

We need a swiss army knife guy who can play all 3 positions but is a great centerman in case of injuries. Trade for a guy like granlund
he fixes injury concerns, he can play top 6 wing, he plays the PP he plays the PK ... hes amazing.

frankly looking at a lineup with granlund as the 3C is kind of scary and a nightmare matchup.
