I watched some of Boston's and Detriot's games last night and I have to say....Spooner looked better than Sheahan, and looked like a better fit for our system. He got more OZ time it's true but he still looked faster...
I've decided I'm going to take a complete heel turn on the Spooner vs Sheahan thing. Everyone's saying we need a defensive 3rd line. I say **** it. **** D-zone starts.
Let's get Spooner, every line plays offense, and just never start in the D-zone to begin with.
People say we need someone on the 3rd line who plays defense? Hornqvist plays defense. If Sid doesn't appreciate Hornqvist, too bad for Sid. Rust plays defense, too. Just let Rust and Hornqvist play all the defense on that line. Spooner can be responsible for covering the other team's stay-at-home D-man who wasn't going to score anyway. And unlike the Hagelin-Sheahan-Hornqvist line I've been seeing pop up everywhere on the board, which might not score a goal together all season, Rust-Spooner-Hornqvist will actually skate fast and score some goals.
