And thus far Brass has been underwhelming. And again you're trivializing giving up that goalie. It's still a good asset and one that could have paid dividends down the road. Particularly if we lose a Jarry to Seattle. It's bad asset management to get rid of such young talent as if they are throw ins. You're also forgetting that we're losing a 3rd this season to OTT.In RS games Brassard has 9 points in 19 games since becoming a Penguin. Seems solid enough for me.
What young players did we jettison? We traded Cole and a 4th. You’re also ignoring that we received a 3rd back.
We lost a frivolous goaltender, an older defenseman in Cole and turned a 4th into a 3rd.
The only real thing of value was the 22nd overall for two years of a legit center. With massive retention.

I agree with you about Cole 100%. That was the part of the deal I had a real problem with considering we were a win now team and didn't make any effort in replacing him.Was still worth it. Only thing I'd change is NOT trading Cole. He would've anchored that 3rd pair. We couldn't even send out the third pairing in the playoffs because of how bad they were.
Should've gave up another late pick or Sheary.
But the trade was overall still worth it for a 2C to come here and be our 3C. Just unlucky that he got hurt.
Teams expecting the Pens to unload at the deadline to rebuild?

Only if Mark Eaton's spoken for.
nah.....sprong hasn't shown he can make a pylon look good. now markSprong for Lovejoy.
Probably looking at players playing well so Leafs players
The one player the Leafs MIGHT be willing to move for defense isn't playing for them right now. Aside from that, I'm not sure they're looking to do anything.
We have the Devils and Isles coming up end of month. Toronto has neither until the Devils on 11/9.
The Rangers and Bolts are interesting, because neither plays either Pittsburgh or Toronto for the next 2+ months.
Seems unlikely we'd make a trade with a Metro team. And TB-Pit are similarly weird trading partners given both are contenders.
Doubt all these scouts have much to do with us.
You did that on purpose, right?Would swap Johnsons with TB so hard

Are people still using the "he needs more time" excuse to defend the guy?
Kessel came from playing with Tyler Bozak. I can't see why he'd be too upset with Brassard as his center.
