Parehk gets a game misconduct at the end of the 2nd period for violating rule 23.6. See if the league steps in and hits him with a suspension. Should be held out of prospect game. Spitting on another player is classless and a cowardly. Especially since he had to have Hache step in for him after he did it and ran away. No place in sports for that and needs to be hit hard with a suspension to send a message. If He does get suspended he hurt is team especially with the Rangers coming to town. Parehk needs to have his ego readjusted.
I remember Roberto Alomar getting 5 games for that in baseball a long time ago. I'm not sure that I've seen such a thing in hockey.

Bill Romanowski did it the 90’s and was fined $7500 by the NFL for spitting at JJ Stokes. You don’t see it much and can’t recall ever seeing it in hockey but tonight I saw it twice by the same player. Only caught once.

He's going to be a role model for a lot of young hockey players of Indian descent, so this is a disappointing development.

Junior is a place where you learn to become a man, so hopefully he'll accept whatever punishment comes and be a better person for it. It might be a learning experience for Lazary as well, who encourages a confident and arrogant attitude more than most coaches that I've met. It certainly works, but he's on an NHL path and still learning as well.

How do you not remember Brad Marchand licking people a few years ago lol. One of the weirdest things to happen in hockey in a while.

Also Hathaway got a couple games for spitting a while back.

Spitting?! What a schmuck, hopefully 15 games off. That is much more disturbing than name calling imo.

Does he have a screw loose? It is a privilege to play for the Spirit. Parehk shouldn’t be an embarrassment.

I agree, throw the book. 15 seems excessive, but
*calculates next time they face the Soo*
9 games should be just about right.

I’m thinking 15 is the starting point for such a vile insult up to 1 year equaling any offensive social media penalty. Anything less than three games more than the heaviest penalty for verbal abuse would be very disappointing imo.

Hopefully Hache showed him the four corners of the room when he got in there.

I’m sure he has no problem stepping in when he needs to, but not for a reason like that.

Nothing but good things to say about hache. Except that one hit he got away with. Great captain, great player- miss the guy in kingston.

Not sure if anyone else picked up on this but after the 7th goal he wanted the guys to go to centre ice after that meaningless goal in the third, they ignored it though but good on hache for trying atleast. That’s how a captain should be.

Have to agree spitting is a gutless move, if you have a beef with another player than drop the mittens and deal with it. Even wait a shift or so and catch them with their head down and deal with it like a man. He isn’t the first to do it but his sketchy behavior he should be last guy to do it! Probably 3 to 5 games is adequate but as a coach if Zayne gets a couple I would let him know that it is inexcusable and bench him another couple games. It’s a black eye on the whole club.

Was it dumb? sure. Should he get a game or two? Probably . Should the coach sit him extra games on top of that? that’s insane talk.

There are cheap shots every week that are worse behavior than this including the headshot from Ludwinski in the same game

I have been called worse, he is a loose cannon. Regardless, of our points of view the young man has to be smarter with his temper

Bull crap! This is a developmental league. He needs developmental disipline before somebody really hurts him. This isn't the first or the last time with this kid. He is the coaches fault. Laz turning a blind eye to his crap. If not in the OHL, a Wiilson type will end his season. He plays like an arrogant punk. Starting to remind me of Ryan Merkley, another punk.

For all his talent I have grown to dislike him...too bad.

Go ahead sheep... have at me.

100% agree. Coach needs to send a message. I was at the game and he did it twice during the game and only got caught once. Lost any respect I still had for him. Whoever said cheap shots are worse we will find out because someone is going to take a run at Parehk and knock that cocky little grin off his face. Hache shouldn’t have stood up for him.

A game or two? What would the suspension for a more acceptable act such as a stick down his throat be? I think 15 has to be the minimum. The kid should be suspended indefinitely, and allowed to apply for reinstatement after sensitivity courses and many school appearances.

Lmao.

There a multiple NHL examples where players get 3 games for spitting. You know what you have to do to get 15? Like literally battery. Baseball swings at heads etc.

The onus is on the league to ensure the penalty is equivalent to a Bertuzzi type attack so that a Bertuzzi type of attack does not give the league two black eyes.

That’s the dumbest slippery slope fallacy stuff I’ve seen on here. Don’t clutch those pearls too hard. Might hurt your hand.
