The commentary is directly proportional to the points won, and the individual stats recorded by players. Last game, not much to discuss.;)
Actually, the few Spirit fans registered here don't discuss much, period, at least not with this media. We just started on page 24 of Part One since rhe season started, and we host the Memorial Cup. One would think we would post more often.

I have purchased memorial cup tickets and will see you in May, hopefully that means I can post here! 😉

Would think there'd be more of them given the size of their Facebook fan groups

The moment the Facebook group starts posting here is my last day on this site.

We also have a separate message board that has been around for a long time...there's not many people left who post on there but we get some good discussion going.. There were a few posts on the game last night.

There is a knowledgeable base of maybe 20 to 30 diehards on our local site. To expand our horizons on hockey talk, quite a few have shone up here.

Yeah for example the Facebook group recently had a meltdown over trading out Loukus to bring back Bloom for free and a post asking if the team should trade Zayne Parekh at this years deadline. They are casual fans at best

Hey all

Bulldog Fan that is making the trip to Flint on Feb 23rd and then to Saginaw on the 24th.

1. Could really use hotel suggestions near the arena (For both nights, leaving Flint right after the game)
2. Activities and restaurants to do on game day.

Thanks!

One word
Frankenmuth!
Yup... This is the correct answer especially since you're doing both games (it's halfway between the arenas). Frankenmuth is one of the top destinations in the state and you can either hit the "famous" chicken dinner at zehnders or Bavarian Inn or there's a number of good restaurants in town like slo bones bbq, poblanos Mexican, Tiffany's (pizza and more), prost (wine bar and charcuterie) and more. Lots of shopping, cool outdoor skating rink and everything is walkable.

Wasn't much talk about the win last night either. Most of us likely aren't going to live and die with every game. I remember when London fans where yelling SELL SELL SELL. I'm sure we could agree that was a bit silly. London is playing like we all thought they would now. Would rather we not struggle so badly in London but at the end of the day they are still 2 points back of the Soo with a solid roster. Give time for lines to comes together and go from there.

Saad will join his former teammate from PA Vincent Trocheck as the second Spirit player to have his number retired

Very deserving...he was a man among boys when he was in Saginaw and it showed when he went directly from the OHL playoffs to playing on a line in Chicago with Hossa and Toews.

Harmer is doing incredibly well. Can't wait to see what he does next season. Again I do love this draft class between him, Clouthier, and Graydon Jones.

Ya, I was impressed with Clouthier in the limited action he saw this year. Agree with you on the draft class, Young was very good and he'll be missed and it sounds like Harmer is killing it so hopefully he's ready to come up next year when we lose some of these older players.

One guy I hope they press hard for in the off season is Charlie Trethewey. Rarely see the east coast kids sign in the OHL but there are a few things in our favor. First, he played for Little Caesars with a couple other Spirit prospects. Almost guarantee we sign Bourdeaux for next year. Possibly DiBlasi too. Could be a selling point. But i think the bigger pitch has to be how well Lazary works with offensive D men. They need to point to Mintyukov and Parekh. Sell him on playing his draft year with Misa and for a guy that elevates the status of players with his skill set. Again, going to be near impossible to pull someone away from the NTDP but have to try at least.

Parehk gets a game misconduct at the end of the 2nd period for violating rule 23.6. See if the league steps in and hits him with a suspension. Should be held out of prospect game. Spitting on another player is classless and a cowardly. Especially since he had to have Hache step in for him after he did it and ran away. No place in sports for that and needs to be hit hard with a suspension to send a message. If He does get suspended he hurt is team especially with the Rangers coming to town. Parehk needs to have his ego readjusted.
