Must be the retro filter they're using because they look to be 1000% navy blue to me.It is 1000% royal blue.

It is 1000% royal blue.
honest question, what do you actually like?
Looking at them just worn on a person they're fine. I think they will look a lot better with all of the gear.
I agree about the goathead I think it's all nostalgia because we were actually competitive. But unless they're going with the slug they didn't really have much other choice besides going red and black in our current jersey scheme.I like our current primary jersey, I liked the 50th anniversary jersey. The goathead was always a fugly jersey, but it borderline worked in black/red. It mostly reminds me of the Hasek days, so I'm a little sentimental there. That color scheme and that logo, IMHO, don't work.
I remember being so underwhelmed when the AGH was originally unveiled. Now we have it in spades.
This is something that I have heard through someone who does have some insider knowledge, but I think it is largely speculation of what said source believes is occurring, not confirmed to be occurring. So, take this for what it is worth:
From what I have heard through an unidentified grapevine is that Chris Ilitch is one of a small handful of owners who hates the concept of the Reverse Retro jerseys and wants nothing to do with them. He's obligated to have one, but he doesn't want it to be used more than the one or two games that the team is required to wear them. So, Adidas compiles the different design concepts for presentation to the Wings, and Chris intentionally picks the worst one knowing it will disappoint the fan base and there won't be any clamoring to see them more than needed.[\QUOTE]
I was there too!I was at that reveal at the Aud when they dropped the banner and the players came out in the black goathead jerseys to Bush's Machinehead playing. I was like really? Still got the hat though when it came out. But I dreamed of when they bought back the classic logo and navy blue and gold.
So fun looking at the other boards and their opinions on theirs. Detroit universally either are bored or don't care about it. None of them really want one which is how it should be when you have one of the best logos and sweaters in all of sports. I really really want this one post to be true:
I was a huge fan of both the 50th and 40th (minus the odd number stitching)I dunno, I think the blue and gold goathead is sharp.
I like the 50th anniversary jersey more (I do own one).......but that reverse retro is nice.
I'm usually a fan of boldness and different from the norm,
You can't hate San Jose's and like Detroit's. Ban this guyI'm usually a fan of boldness and different from the norm,
So:

Wish they'd gone with a colored jersey concept of some kind. Between this one, the 50th, the reverse retro last year, and the past couple of heritage classic ones, they've all been white
I think it would help the project across the board if they scrapped the whole "retro" concept. Especially considering 2 teams haven't existed long enough to have anything retro. Sure we'd have some duds, but we already do. I think it would open up a lot more creativity.Between Winter Classics, Heritage Classics, Stadium Series games and two different rounds of Reverse Retros they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel for "the same, but kinda different" jersey designs at this point.
We should wear our whites at home, they're beautiful.I think Pegula really prefers white at home.
Adidas isn't the jersey partner anymore starting after next season so you better hope Nike doesn't buy the rights because we will be getting 8 different jerseys a year. Devil you know is better than the one you don't. I think Adidas has done a great job of respecting the uniforms (Adidas has nothing to do with ads on jerseys) and not pushing too many.I think it would help the project across the board if they scrapped the whole "retro" concept. Flyers bringing back the Cooperalls! (for warmups only)
San Jose is too Semi-Pro influenced for me. Just don't like it.You can't hate San Jose's and like Detroit's. Ban this guy
I agree with him, but they all sort of look the same. IMO the NHL should adopt what the AHL does with having teams wear white at home for half the season and then colors at home for the other half.

7. Buffalo Sabres
Lazerus: 8, Gentille: 9, Iniguez: 5
Lazerus: Sneak a buffa-slug or two on the shoulders and this makes the top five. Good logo, good colors. Works a heck of a lot better than it did in black and red.
Iniguez: One trillion percent better than their prior Reverse Retro unis, and with a logo that conjures up all sorts of nostalgic fuzzies.
Gentille: We’re now in the “No complaints tier.” This one is a reminder of how great white hockey jerseys can look.
Semi-Pro? On what planet did the California Golden Seals get influenced by a movie decades in the future?San Jose is too Semi-Pro influenced for me. Just don't like it.
I like Detroit's because I like their simple design, and I feel could represent the history of the team and it doesn't have the winged wheel which is a plus for me when doing something different. It feels like it's an homage to the actual "sweater" period of the league.
