I've upped my confidence from 25% to about 45%. Based on available quotes, it sure seems like Vesey's camp is softening their stance on going to August 15. If I didn't know better, I'd say it's starting to almost seem as if the parties agreed on a timeline of slowly coming closer together so as not to suggest the fix was in while he was still Preds' property.

Funny. I've thought it was a lock since they made the trade. Murray has little to lose, but seems to make calculated decisions. So I think he had some inside talk from jack to say murray had good shot at him.

Decent article about him growing up and being a UFA.

Didn't know he had 2 young kids. I think the Buffalo area has a strong draw to guys with young families, which, for us, is usually players of UFA age.

They need to move out one of Kane, Ennis or Moulson for me to like this. The AAV is good and I like that it's front loaded and bonus driven, but there's too much being spent on the wing now. Move someone out.

Moulson and Ennis each have three years left.
Kane has two years left.

Timing is perfect, I think, in tandem with doing Eichel and Reinhart's next contract after two years (or three). Plus, provided Nylander develops into a top six winger, starts his professional three-year rookie deal in 2017-2018 or 2018-2019.

Maybe Vegas would bite on one of those players in the expansion draft provided they're short-term (one or two years)?
