I know some posters thought it was crazy, but you can get creative when you have an elite D like Dahlin. The day I winessed Hedman carry Bogo through a cup run was the day I realized Dahlin can do the same for us one day, and Clifton may be the one to benefit from that mindset.
It's still early, but I dont think any of us should be too attached to what we anticipate the d pairings to look like throughout the season.

We've already got 2 injuries (Quinn and Savoie) and there are more to come. Depth is good for now. We are still a year or two way from insane depth. What was that line from Spaceballs? Ludicrous speed?

I wouldn’t trade Cozens straight up. Especially given the contract he has and the one Zegras likely wants.

Not only did he, he was mocking some lowball idea (Stillman and Olofsson) that I saw nowhere.
He built a strawman, only to sound stupider.
I would say he does IF the sabres are winning and in the playoffs hunt/contenders
I'm of the idea that Adams is not trading Cozens for anything but a stupid over payment, so that should end any of those discussions. Not sure Zegras makes a whole lot of sense, and will echo what others have said about it being GM/agent posturing during a negotiation. There should be no trades unless it is the goaltending situation being addressed or a no-brainer upgrade to our bottom 6

Re - Zegras...sure it's a nice idea to think about, but he's not the type of player they're missing and either way...it just isn't happening. Same for Petterson.
Re - Kane...by the time he's ready to play, so will Quinn, or close enough to not matter. I don't see the point.
Savoie probably won't make the team. I figured he'd have to blow up camp and that's not happening now. Rousek is probably the guy, and either he or Jost will be the 13th FW.

RyJo and Donny both brought up Benson really driving play with Tommer and Skinner today. Makes me think there's a chance of him sticking around for nine games.

I don't think KA would do a nine game tryout unless he thought that player was a serious contender to stay on the team. I doubt Benson proves himself to that extent. He's just not physically ready.

Yes Petterson and Zegras are not the same player, but it's still not happening. I don't want KA to make that trade either.

No because there is a cap, I rather have a D in his age group, which is more of what we need, not a high scoring, weak D forward.
The 8mil in cap space I rather spent on a true top 3/4 D.

I would think if Adams is checking in on the availability of Zegras and has interest in Kane it would be because Adams isn't just thinking playoffs, he's thinking Cup. There'd have to be a move in play to move a bit of salary while bringing in a true 3 / 4 d man, (maybe a Pesce type move).
