Also fwiw I am the age that red and black was all I remember. My room was completely decked out in goathead colors and wallpaper. 2005-2006 is my favorite team ever.

I love seeing them, but they are not a better jersey than the royal blue and gold. And the logo is infinitely worse. We are connected to the era, not the uniforms. Winning cures all.

The Sabres have played 53 seasons in the NHL and wore Blue & Gold for 44 of them and the Black and Red for 9 (not counting last year).

It's a select number of fans who care about those goat heads - not most of the fanbase.

I would go back and look at the advanced metrics on that one.

I for one will go on record saying the red and black goat head is the best jersey hands down but blue and gold are the teams colors which makes the blue and gold goat heads the single greatest jersey in Sabres history.

This. It's the novelty of them that makes the atmosphere a bit more fun when they wear them. That wouldn't keep up after a full season.
