I was just coming back to paste the link to this one (he starts talking about it at the around the 23 minute mark):

James Patrick remembering Rick Jeanneret and how the Sabres look this year - Sabres Live

I got a kick out of him mentioning Guy Carbonneau, not exactly my player comparable but I get what he was saying. If Krebs' asperations of becoming a top 6 guy fall short, he'll definitely need to transform his game, and Patrick is pretty convinced that Krebs will be able to find a role.

Being old enough to remember, the Habs sent him to the AHL specifically to work on molding him into a defensive player. It's not like he came to that all on his own. But Krebs bringing energy and being defensively responsible would be a continued way forward in his career.

Oh my! I would ante the heck up for Pettersson. He's a two-way beast. A core of...

Dahlin
Tuch
Power
Thompson
Pettersson
Cozens
Levi

...is insane. The depth coming up on top of that would be the chef's kiss.

I’d go there too, I think. Depending on Vancouver’s season the price for him may be cheaper than that too. EP would hold all the cards similar to what we’ve seen with other players recently.

Oh yeah, he's a fiesty sucka who WANTS a spot in the NHL. I have little doubt he'll alter his game to find a spot in the bottom 6 if need be. In fact, it seems like it's part of his DNA to be a bit of rat playing an energy role in the bottom-6. Obviously, I'm hoping for more, but my mind is at ease knowing we already have Thompson and Cozens as our top-6 Cs. If this were a few years ago, I'd be way more worried of Krebs falling short of his max potential.

Part of the reason I wanted to see Krebs with Quinn on the third line was to see how they feed off each other. Quinn has some lowkey feistiness to his game. I can see him becoming a PITA to play against. Oh well, maybe they'll get a chance together when Quinn is healthy.

Where did the rumors about EP come from? Or is it just dreams? Overall I don't see KA doing anything like that and we're going to need all these guys like Benson, Savoie and the rest to match the cap.

There aren't any, just doldrums silliness. It would never happen.

Obviously, the contract he's demanding matters, but Christ, as someone else mentioned, a center spine of Thompson, Cozens, and Pettersson would be deadly.

For me, for Pettersson + Kuzmenko, they can have Peterka + Benson + Savoie + 1st + Mitts or Krebs

Good teams trade 4 quarters for a dollar if they think it'll get them over the hump. I feel like Buffalo is at that point now. We have an abundance of depth and not enough room for all of these prospects to begin with. If that trade was available I pull the trigger every day of the week.

When Krebs came here. He was known as a top caliber passer and generally offensive player. He got pushed around some

He was asked last year to become an all around player. He worked on that part of his game

I expect to see Krebs on at least the third line. And I expect him to be asked to play in the mold of cozens. Don’t give up on him yet

EP said his decision to sign a contract depends on how Vancouver does this year. He was giving a hypothetical offer if he decides against signing in Vancouver

He really does have some under the radar feistiness.

This play in particular stood out to me. He got hit right off the draw and immediately went looking for an opportunity to level someone.

Also, I remember him getting rocked and immediately following it up with a goal. I cant recall who it was against, but I remember getting hyped as hell and yelling 'That's a big boy play right there!'

I'm think Adams won't go for it.

Salary cap says, "Not In My House!" as it swats the proposal into the bleachers. ;)

Those two wouldn't fit under this years cap, and next season when you add Dahlin, Petterson(QO) and Power's extensions is when it would really get ugly. The top 8 players would likely be eating up over 60M of the cap, and this deal would seriously cut into the ELC depth options needed going forward to alleviate the cap issues.

To top it off, Kuzmenko and Petterson could both walk in two years via UFA.

I like EP, but I just don't see the viability.

Not sure where to post this. Baker's Euro prospect pod dropped.

I was never really sure how to pronounce Vaxjo. Bakes pronounced it Vakwa a couple times. Almost like a French pronunciation. Wondering if someone could confirm. Same with Marjala. For some reason my foreign "j" always goes straight to an "h" sound. Probably the years of Spanish class that have all but left me.

It’s not.

you need to plan around the cap.
