Cool will probably be able to get something good back in return at the 2027 TDL when we miss the playoffs for the 16th straight year...Maybe by then Adams will be fired and maybe we'll finally start the see the light at the end of the tunnel

Good deal for both sides. I don't think Buffalo (or probably any other team) wanted to sign him to a max term deal.

I think that Byram wanted a long term deal. But still good money for him, even if it's another bridge deal.

If this season goes sideways, there is always the 2-year playoff rental model at the next trade deadline. And if that doesn't work, next summer or even the next deadline. In the meantime, seems like he'll play with Dahlin and that probably keeps his trade value up.

Defense doesn’t look that bad

Lots of forward depth

Question mark at starting goalie

Need another top 6 forward

If they sign Timmons around 2M and Levi is in the minors, they will have around 6.25M remaining.

Krebs+RD prospect+pick for a legit 2nd line player? Rakell/mccann/etc.

Throwing my crazy brain out there.

Do they try to go after a legit starting goalie now?

UPL+ for Swayman?

Most of us didn't want futures for Byram.

I'm okay if he's our "two year rental", even if we lose him for nothing.

It all depends on that second year. Hopefully, we are in the playoff race, and are buyers at the deadline. But if not, we can always recoup some value.

(Hope is all I have with this team)

I still think he gets traded, maybe even this offseason still. Having a deal in place reduces risk for the trading team. Now they know what they are getting.

I like this. He will pump his value playing with Dahlin. We either make the playoffs next year or hes traded for more than he would be at his value now at deadline.

Wasn't this roughly the arbitration estimate? Who benefits from avoiding it?
