While I was hoping to keep the top 4 together for continuity, I had one concern with losing Byram, and that's the reported presence he brings to the locker room. His on ice impacts are nothing special unless he's playing against a bunch of slow corpses (see playoff series against Boston).

With how Power progressed this year, that second pairing partner for him should be easy to replace with a cost effective option. Is it possible that we finally see Connor Murphy in a Sabres sweater?

It helps not having to play against the top guys. Byram is what he is, in his mind he is a top all situations Dman, but in reality he is a top 4 guy, a #2 at best.
