Perhaps my criticism of Power in this regard is unfair? If he's been coached to play according to these new (unwritten?) rules, then he is simply doing what he's been taught?

You know what... I'm fine with that penalty from Clifton. Our D-men are usually so damned passive and avoid contact. Once in a while you need to sort of knock someone on their asses just to keep them somewhat honest.

Same. At least one guy knows he might get knocked on his ass around the crease.

Nah, he is really passive around his net and is watching too much instead of getting a stick on anything. He’s a really good winger, playing defense. He needs more work and I don’t trust Wilford to be the guy working on it with him.

Power is good when he's forced to play defense like a 2 on 1 or pinching but around the net if he doesn't want to be physical today he's very slow.

Are you still playing? Both coaching kids and keeping active even in old men's no asshole leagues had/has been an outlet for me.

It's NHL HOCKEY that I have fallen out of love with. The college game is still pretty darn cool to watch. Playing is even better........ no matter how much Bengay must be applied! LOL

Power is good when he's forced to play defense like a 2 on 1 or pinching but around the net if he doesn't want to be physical today he's very slow.

I think he is very slow (mentally) processing the game - offensively and defensively. I suppose someone could argue he overthinks things, but it's just sloooooow. By the time he decides what he should do, it's in the net.

Understand. My son's been a goalie since Mites. He's now 36 and plays out because his knees are shot. Still active. Just not at his old position.

IF you can't do it physically, I understand. But honestly, at our age, just pick the right skill and speed level and play out. Nobody cares. We are just out there to have some fun.....
