Looks like Jarmo has had a busy evening. He’s had his glass of Ovaltine, everyone will have to wait until tomorrow now.
Actually a top 6 right winger is exactly what they need. Then they go after a 3CLast thing Leafs need is another top 6 winger.
MAYBE if they draft Chase Reid 1st overall and not Gavin McKenna. Or trade down from 1 to 6 with Calgary and draft Carson Carels.
Fans no. But there was a report that Jarmo was looking in on him at the trade deadline. Obviously, not interested enough at the time to make the trade.Would the Sabres have any interest in reacquiring Ristolainen from the Flyers?
probably why they'll ship out WrightSeattle has yet to realize that you can't build a team with wingers.
or maybe never hired that retread in the first place? If it is indeed a Tuch sign-and-trade to Seattle, then Seattle has to maybe get a new general manager. You don't build championship teams through the winger position. They've been drafting centers, sure, but you need defensemen too. Dunn is getting older and is a UFA in 2 years. Larsson and Montour are decent but will be old men when their contracts expire. Lindgren is old and meh. Their D core long term is Ryker Evans and...? Fiddler is a promising RHD prospect. Not "top pairing" promising, but promising. Maybe one or two of their other D prospects make it, but none of them are projected to be top 4 guys.
Not any moreSeattle Washington is a tax-free state. I read on HF Boards that tax-free states can sign anyone they want.
There’s a lot of things they could be doing.
They could be trying to flip 4 plus for help. Or 20 plus for less help. I’d prefer the latter.
Quinn has one year before he needs a new deal and I’m not sure they want to get into that with what’s coming behind him even though he turned it on this year.
There’s obviously a sign and trade with Tuch since the UFA market is so bleak but you’re not getting much for that.
Hellebuyck rumors won’t go away but man I’m not interested in what that might cost.
Jarmo was big game hunting at the deadline and came up empty. He has better ammo now…but that doesn’t make players waive clauses or make anyone available. I’m sure he’s talking about a lot of things…but things that might actually be close at the moment? Probably the Tuch one.
At this point, I am game. We have too many bodies and not enough seats at the table. Seems like teams can sell players, and then flip those futures for another top 6/9 player. SO I would listen to futures, if we can then package those up + Mrtka and 20th overall for a Robert Thomas (more or less).Ottawa will gladly take the hometown kid off your hands.
Unfortunately, they only really have futures to offer though...

What's a futures package for Quinn look like to you?
I like meerlainen too.Probably starts with 25th overall and Logan Hensler.
I like meerlainen too.
Sabres would probably include Levi since he seems to be done in BuffaloI don't think that would be a deal breaker for Ottawa, though I'm unsure of what Sens management thinks of him at this point.

Merlainen would fit really really well into Buffalo's system and would thrive imo. Id much rather integrate him into the goalie rotation we have until he takes over as #1 G than waste assets for a 33 year old helle with bad kneesQuinn and Levi
for
25, Hensler, and Merilainen
I would do that.
UPL + 4th for Helle.Winnipeg is very reasonable. Hellebuyck for 4th overall + (insert goalie with pulse). If you can turn Byram into Hellebuyck, you're a damn magician. Let's make a deal!
4th for 9th+27th+2027 1st (lottery protected)
come on Sabres, you're playing with house money now!
