We had one (extremely) bad period. I think the group deserves credit for playing a terrific 3rd period and shutting down one of the better offenses in the league without our top defensive center.

Fourth goal was a deflating softy on the second shot of the period that he faced, over halfway into the period.

First goal was not good, but I guess semi forgivable, as it didn't go through him or anything, but a longer wrist shot from the top of the circles that whizzed past his glove.

4th goal was a definite softy but credit to the team that it was not deflating.

Amen. I’m going to hold out hope that 3rd period was Lindy giving them a good paddling in the 2nd intermission. It was night and day difference the way they played that 3rd. Do that more consistently and this team could get hot.

I love the way he uses the net to his advantage on the breakout. Did it a few times tonight and left the forechecker in the dust. His skating is mesmerizing.

For some reason whenever I saw that happened against the Devils, it was a pet peeve of mine but seeing Luke do it now makes it so much better

It was the right move to take him out for the 3rd. He definitely didn't look right when he returned, not to mention taking another tough hit not long after that.

Hope he can shake it off. Maybe he needs a game off, too.

Nico took a check to the head, the guy that did it (Clifton) got a major and a match penalty.

Nico came back for the 2nd but did not return for the 3rd. Lindy just said he was held out for “precautionary reasons.”

I understand being hard on your team, but he went too far.

Still a work in progress, but we played with more structure tonight. Take tonight and build off of it. And Vitek should be the starter for now. Gave up a bad goal in the 3rd but he's the one making big saves in key moments right now.

Expected goals according to MoneyPuck were 3.1-3.39 in favor of the Devils. So what should have been a 3-3 type game ended up being 5-4.

Their goals allowed above expected are about the same as us. We just have a better offense because we have Jack.

Probably had more then a couple shot assists.

Really good on ice numbers with McLeod including 75% corsi and a +1 GF. Have really liked his hustle the past couple games and playing on the 4th line stresses the need for that.

Can’t see that. See-saw game. Tie going into the 3d and we clearly out played them in the deciding period. The game was right there for both teams and we took it away from them.

Maybe he’s still pissed about the non call on Hamilton for delay of game, whereupon his goalie is called for the same penalty and we cash in on the power play. That was a big point in the game. But they did tie it up after that. Anybody see if the non call on Hamilton was correct?

Watching the highlights, looks like Holtz had a strong game. That pass to Meier for the one-timer was gorgeous. Mercer looked more involved, Luke had a good game also it seems. Who else was solid tonight?
