I judge Pavs goaling by the raised pucks chart, not very many raised pucks sent to him tonight so his stats are inflated, and he looks like a Vezina candidate.

I'll agree that Pavs didn't see the quality scoring chances against him tonight that we normally see.
The team didn't allow them. The team doesn't allow umpteen quality scoring chances against in a game and they win. See the correlation?

Although we will be thrown 50 graphs that say otherwise the quality of the chances allowed need to be considered, not just the save %.

Little's in pretty good company so far (discounting the games played part, of course ;) ):

Player |Team |Pos |GP |G|A |P |+/- |PIM |PP |SH |GW |OT |S |S% |TOI/G |Sft/G |FO%
Phil Kessel|TOR|C|16|10|9|19|6|13|3|0|3|0|61|16.4|19:31|24.3|12.5
Corey Perry|ANA|R|17|10|7|17|10|16|1|0|4|0|65|15.4|19:41|23.7|50
Matt Duchene|COL|C|14|10|7|17|6|0|3|0|3|0|50|20|18:03|22.6|53.7
Bryan Little|WPG|R|18|10|5|15|2|10|1|2|1|0|38|26.3|19:40|25.8|44.4
Jason Pominville|MIN|R|17|10|3|13|7|6|3|0|3|0|53|18.9|17:50|22.2|43.6

The shots column is the impressive column. He has been deadly this year, including in the shootouts. The other guys waste so many shots but Little seems to know what to do with it every time.

@NHLJets: Byfuglien will have to wait a bit longer for his first of the season. His goal now credited to Tangradi. #NHLJets

Only in winnipeg can a goalie get a shutout and criticism for the same game.

The point is let's not get carried away here. This kind of Pavelec overhype during Jets 2.0's first season is the EXACT reason we ended up with that horrible contract. Let's wait and see if he can replicate this kind of performance consistently before declaring him the second coming of Patrick Roy. We've seen him have good games and then laying eggs far too often.

Jets allowed more quality chances this game than the last time Preds were here

the difference? Pavs played lights out

Its just one game, but perhaps everyone benefits from a more equitable split in games between Pavs and Montoya.

Again its one game, but Pavs looked great.

Its true. But looking at the game he played well. If you look at the big picture tho, not so much.

It's just 1 game, we are still far far behind. All this good momentum will be gone with a loss in the next game if they don't win.

I am declaring him the second coming of Patrick Roy right now. I'm not waiting. Pavs is a legend!!!!

This is the kind of win you are supposed to enjoy in a kind of mindless stupor.

There will be plenty of criticisms to level in future games, so just relax and sit back and save them for later!

Little , Joker & Pavelec were outstanding against Nashville.

No bad luck in this game & everything seemed to go in. :handclap:

I agree and I never anointed him as an all-star. But can't we agree that Pavs had a good game tonight. Can't we acknowledge he played well for 60 minutes without trying to pick on anything negative about him.

I'm not discounting his shutout at all.

I'm just saying that if you aren't giving up an endless stream of breakaways, 2 on 1s, and arent playing soft around your net it is much easier for a goalie to succeed.

I'm expecting TNSE to pre-retire his jersey next week and have it hanging from the rafters while he is still playing.

Just got home from the game. Great game by Pavs. I imagine will be able to go a night without some Pavs bashing. Little seems much more confident around the net. I was really hoping for the 1st Jet 2.0 hatty. And Olli is a different player than he was last year.

Yeah, that is kinda strange: straight copy/paste from the NHL.com stats. :dunno:

Here's the NHL.com stats table I pulled this from:

Kessel a C? Little an R? I guess we now know how Ovi got best LW and RW honours last year.
