from Rotoworld,
With four concussions in less than 18 months, Ryan Clowe's career could be over.
New Jersey Devils' GM Lou Lamoriello said it's, "very vague at this point" if or when Clowe will return to the ice. Clowe has not played since Nov. 8th, and has dressed just 98 times, including two playoff games with the Rangers, since 2012 for Sharks, Devils and aforementioned Rangers. Jan 23 - 6:33 PM

He wont retire until his contract runs out.

Well , ofcourse not but will he be LTIR until his contract runs out or does he still play again? My guess is it's game over for him , he ended up concussed even with trying to play no contact hockey and forgetting the power forward part.

Devils will finally be freed from that horrendous contract.

Sucks they still have Cammalleris.

Devils fans like Cammalleri, he's good to get injured for about 20-30 games per season but he always comes back looking like he's never left. He's been doing this all his career, his contract isn't that bad.

and it's not like we're strapped for cap space...

One of my favorites of all time

It's a shame to see him go this way, but this often happens to players who go as hard as he does

He was a warrior, and he was a monster at his peak

He shouldn't even consider playing again. 4 over a life time isn't as bad, but not great...4 in 18 months, is not worth it.

Keep in mind that if you fully allow for healing after a concussion (let's say 5-8 weeks) then the subsequent concussions shouldn't be as bad. However that does not seem to be the case now. I don't particularly recall that he rushed himself back much either. Could be that he had a ton of concussions before and try to play through them...

It's actually the opposite. The next concussion happens much easier than the previous one. 4 in 18 months is terrible. 1 every 4.5 months. That isn't very good.

I question if you understand what a concussion actually is, because what you just said doesn't make a lick of sense.

We will take the meat but are there potatoes?

There are. Dustin is counting them as we speak.

This sucks. He's a Hockey player, the kind any team would want and need.

Last of a dying breed.

His skating turned to crap and that many concussions...how does a doctor even clear him to play? He's got to have some concerning brain damage.
