Yeah, his frickin' head nearly spun right around backwards. You don't get much harder of a head shot than that, so you worry that a hit like that could be career ending, given Nurse has had concussions before. A plug like Reaves needs to be suspended for as long as Nurse is out. Not that that would hurt the Leafs though.

This is exactly the point.

What's the purpose of fighting?

Players say it's to 'stick up for your teammate'. Do you only stick up for your teammate if the guy you fight is smaller than you?

Next time they play each other, assuming Reaves is in the lineup, the Oilers will call up some guy from the minors and say we sent our message, and send the guy back down. I personally don't believe in the argument that it's sticking up for your teammate when you force one guy to fight on behalf of your team for dirty or clean hits.

It makes no sense.

Fighting barely exists in the NHL. At one point do you stop crying about it?

not long enough unless it is a ticket out of the NHL much like that disgusting human being named Raffi Torres... repeat offender, actively states publicly that there is no longer enough physicality in the NHL... Reeves intended to harm Nurse here, he did target his head with his shoulder. What a sick act of violence. They have been trying to eliminate this hit for 10 years now...Clearly the desire to eliminate it from the NHL perspective is clearly not true...

Reaves is huge, is upright, and skating on ice. If Nurse isn't such a moron in that situation Reaves gets 100% body. Reaves can't morph into an angled form.
