Ill be excited for the first game dont get me wrong, but i just thought Tinordi was brought in for that. Id rather see Barron in the lineup

Which forward is getting traded to make room for Bobby Blais on the 3rd line?

As it stands now, someone like Morgan Barron or Kreider, or Kravstov would have to be relegated to 4th line duty in order for there to be room for Blais on the 3rd line, right?

I don't see how this works unless there the Rangers are planning on parting ways with one of those younger players.

I think you very well could see a third line of Kreider-Goodrow-Blais later in the season. Maybe not to start, but quite possibly later.

Dude is made for Broadway. Like him or not, his theatre will generate revenue. It was inevitable, don't really love or hate it either way. The more big guys protecting the young stars the better though. I'm tired of seeing this team get linked to Wilson, but i'd be lying if I said I didn't always worry about the Caps or Bruins' goons hurting one of our young guys. Don't think having a bunch on our side actually deters that, but it helps and makes them seem less helpless.

Reaves is going to be on the ice for what 8-10 minutes per night on the 4th line? Its not that much. If our team is performing the way it should Gallant will lean on lines 1-3. When Reaves is not needed he wont play. Gallant sat him during the cup clinching game for the Caps. Its not like Gallant will play him at all costs.

If Reaves plays all 82 games thats a problem. But he will not be doing that.

I see him playing 40-50 games. I can live with that if he helps this team take the next step by letting the talent feel like there will at least be a strong answer should anyone run them on the ice
Exactly!

Lol I just realized that Washington open their season against the Caps. Should be a good one

The Rangers have enough talent to be a playoff team, but they are a soft team. Reaves and the other tough guys will start the year getting more minutes but as the year goes on I'm expecting guys like Barron to get a shot. Then come playoffs the Rangers have insurance if needed. Don't see the need to get worked up about overdoing it. We still have Panarin, Zib, Strome, Fox, Kreider plus Laf, Kakko, Chytil, Krav, Miller who can all make big leaps.
This. Since the rebuild started, the team's depth sucked. Drury's done a good job this summer of making this team deeper and giving them depth throughout the lineup.

I would have rather taken the straight 1st from STL for Buchnevich and signed Nick Ritchie instead of trading for Blais, but otherwise, Drury's moves (and the one's he hasn't made) have made the Rangers a better team compared to last season.

He could do nothing else except trade Georgiev for a pick and take on a bad contract for a year for another draft pick and I'd be happy. I'm cool with self renting Strome and taking another year to evaluate if Chytil is ready for 2C duties. The offseason next year should be the summer of the center. Go shopping for one (or two depending on Zibanejad negotiations) and draft one in the first round.

To be clear, I am absolutely in no way shape or form hoping Reaves takes off Wilson’s head like this every again as I would never wish harm on anyone
Nah, f*** that.

He came inches away from potentially giving Artemi Panarin a subdural bleed. Wilson deserves every little bit of pain that's coming to him.

Hugging Tom Wilson for 15 seconds for the small fee of a 3rd rounder in what’s shaping up to be a very good draft.

I do not like Chris Drury and the more moves he makes the less I like him.

Or, another possibility (perhaps for the sequel?):

The two behemoths stare down one another.

Wilson smiles.

Reaves goes after him.

Wilson take the ass kicking and gives two shits about it.

Reaves goes to the penalty box.

Caps score on the powerplay.

Chants of "We love 2003" go up around the arena.

Rangers lose 3-2.

Jack Eichel watches from press box, but can't hang his head in shame....because he's wearing a neck brace.

Lol I thought you were going to let it play out!

Our 4th line has been useless for years. If they can eat 10 mins a night, hit people, and keep the puck out of our net it's a win in my book.
