The Metro is going to be a wild division next year. All the top teams have a lot of bad blood between them
Opening night. Rangers vs Capitals. In the wake of the last year's controversy, the energy has never been higher. Tom Wilson takes the ice and the harbinger of justice Ryan Reaves follows.
The two behemoths stare down one another. The battle is agreed upon. Gloves drop. What happens next will shake the foundations of heaven and earth and subvert the fabric of all human relations.
Wilson and Reaves proceed to hug it out in an extremely awkward, jersey grabbing 13 seconds of carnage. Wilson hugs left but Reaves counters by hugging him with a right. Wilson tries a follow up hug but is thwarted by Reaves who pulls out his secret of secret weapons, the reverse hug.
The battle ends. The villain from DC has been vanquished. He is forced to put his shoulder pad back into his jersey after it was temporarily displaced from the previous hug fest.
Reaves is lauded a hero. At long last, the rival dragon has met his match.
5 minutes pass as Wilson exits the penalty box and proceeds to board Artemi Panarin which dislocates his shoulder and gives him a concussion. Wilson is fined $5,000.
The worst part is the people trying to make it seem like Wilson has nothing to do with the moves they’re makingHonestly the overreaction to Wilson this summer has been even more humiliating than the original beat down itself
Still cant change it for a couple months smhUser name checks out

Drafting McIlrath in the top 10 of a draft to counter Dan Carcillo ragdolling Marian Gaborik when he wouldn't be reasonably ready until 3 or 4 years down the line is still way more embarrassing than this offseason so far. At least this offseason's signings will pay immediate dividends.Honestly the overreaction to Wilson this summer has been even more humiliating than the original beat down itself
Rangers have bad blood with a few teams as well.

Ironic that Carcillo came to us and played a pretty damn important part in our Cup run four years later and was for the most part loved around here.
Hmm....
Gorton would have done the same thing except it would be Deslauriers or Macdermid.I miss jeff gorton.
Hockey is physical sport as well…need guys like this. If I’m a skill guy I like to take some shifts with a guy who can handle the physical stuff. It makes the skill guys play bigger. Maybe that’s old man thinking but I think it’s true.Yes, I know all of this.
However, it is preferable to have a GM who doesn't think it's good to bring in a player who doesn't actually provide any decent, let alone good, on-ice results. I don't care if he signed him to a completely buriable contract, it's the thought that the player should even exist in the organization that is troubling.
For years we've complained about the Rangers being flat and not showing any emotion. We finally bulk up on grit and size in the bottom 6, and there are so many complaints. Oh, no, we signed Tinordi as a 7D. We have plenty of skill and management is now making a statement that our young kids and skill is not to be f***ed with, and I'm all for it
It would be really nice if Chris Drury would stop fellating "muh gritz" and "muh tuffness". If this is what we have to look forward to for the next few years, why bother hoping the team will be decent.
So predictable lol
Howden and a 3rd for Reaves and a 4th
yeah I think that one is worse AINECDrafting McIlrath in the top 10 of a draft to counter Dan Carcillo ragdolling Marian Gaborik when he wouldn't be reasonably ready until 3 or 4 years down the line is still way more embarrassing than this offseason so far.
