Plot twist, I have a source who corresponds with Drury regularly, the plan is actually to bring in Reaves as our top line center and Eichel as the goon will kick Tom Wilson’s ass and play 4th line minutes. Drury supposedly believes Reaves has untapped offensive potential. Drury says he is okay paying a guy 10 million a year to punch faces.

I usually agree with pretty much everything you say... But not this.

Reaves has some hockey sense in his game. He’s not just a Goon you throw on the ice when you need a momentum shift. He can cycle the boards down low. Win those 1-on-battles. And skate his ass back when he has to.

Reaves is very much a hockey player. Yeah, his IQ and talent isn’t anything special, but at the same time you’re getting the best brawler in the league who has an expiring contract and knows how to actually play hockey.

He only played as much because of Quinn, but DQ really did the kid a disservice by keeping him around. He desperately needed AHL time.
