It's very naive to say his production is based purely on moving from Arizona to Montreal. Somehow I doubt you'd support the claim that Galchenyuk's production is being hindered in Arizona and he's really a 70 point player.

As for KK replacing Domi, sure if KK is better he'll become the teams #1 C, but why would that mean Domi moving to wing. Why wouldn't Domi simply move to being the team's second line center?

"Has more to do with" translated to "Purely" by you. Why? And then you go and use a word like "naive"? Think about what you just did. I think you deserve 2 min's in the box for twisting things and then calling someone naive ;)

Habs top 9 depth is much better than the Coyotes top 9 depth. I support what that guy was saying... Domi increasing his stats is more of a move from the Coyotes to the Habs than a move from wing to center. He has extra energy playing in a Hockey market and with better talent. I have full confidence Domi can do the same thing on wing as he has been doing at center. The key here is top 9 depth and how we are rolling those 3 lines keeping the tempo up high.

Did you ever hear of puck possession and play making wingers? Like Marchand for example?

Thanks for posting this. Awesome interview.

1) According to Poehling, Bergevin has done a good job sticking to his plan? :sarcasm:

2) He's already talking about the potential of playing the last few games with his brothers.. Thinking about turning Pro next year? :sarcasm:. Habs welcome you buddy!

3) He clearly has already thought about how he fits with the Habs and what he would need to do to learn the system we play. He was able to talk to Kotkaniemi in rookie camp about the future

Lets squash the "he might not sign" propaganda now. Habs are not going to be cheap with him and we are going to give him opportunity with mentor ship which is what he will be looking for.

That was a huge tell IMO, I think he'll be in the org next season at the latest.

That loophole is not fair to other amateur players who don’t have that Avenue. You would think this would get fixed
Any player can refuse to sign with the team that drafted them they renter the draft and if the don’t sign again they be UFA just like a NCAA player so it not much of a loophole... doesn’t bring any financial incentive at any point.

I know and it scares me, he seems like a real winner but also I have the feeling he wants to play in the US.

Thats bull crap. Sounds like you’re just trying to get a reaction. He has NEVER said he wants to play with a team here in The US. You cam be scared all you want that’s your right. But you are 100% wrong here.

Curious... I'm assuming you watched his latest interview? Why are you still scared after hearing him talk about...

1) Possibly playing the last few games with his brothers
2) Mentioning how Bergevin is trending after the heat he was in
3) How our center depth looks and how he fits with our system

I don't see any issues at all. Habs are not going to be cheap with him and based on how we are sheltering Kotkaniemi in his development, I think Poehling knows he is in good hands with the Habs.

Agreed. He can't sign with any other team until after next season and he is already thinking about how it might be the last few games playing with his brothers this season. He clearly is thinking about turning pro after this season.

Habs are going to offer him the max ELC with performance bonus structured in. Poehling is a future Habs player. I love this kids game. Strong big body who is committed to listening to what the coach wants him to do and provides scoring in big games. He is not the type to disappear in big games and he is not shy of physical contact. Look at the muscle he gained after his draft year. He noticed he lacked strength and worked at adding muscle in the off season.

Lots to like

He said he wants to play for the habs eventually, you're just baiting for reaction right now. Whether he does or does not remains to be seen, but so far we've been hearing the right things directly from the source.

95% of the College players drafted are signing with the team that drafted them. Why would it be different with Poehling ? The only player in recent history drafted by the Habs that seemed not very enthusiastic to sign with the club was McDonagh. he finally signed a NHL contract after having been dealt to NYR.

pretty sure NCAA player that don't re-sign are free agent and not entering the draft again. That is the issue.

Totally right. same with undrafted overaged players from the Canadian junior leagues.
