We're not a serious contender until the much needed defensive overhaul. Lindgren, Miller, Trouba gone for guys who dont suck and arent soft.

The drop off in physical skills is understandable with the beatings he’s taken at this level. I could even forgive him for being a bit gun shy going into corners after getting kabonked 1911191929110 times in the last 2 years (and to his credit, the willingness there has not gone away.)

The deterioration of fundamentals in his own end are astonishing. He’s always done dumb shit with the puck on his stick in every zone, but just watching him fail to pick up the right guy, create lanes for the opposition for no reason, fail to get under sticks, etc. is something I cannot wrap
My head around.

It’s not a Marc Staal thing where his feet wouldn’t take him where he wanted to go, he will straight up be in position and not do the right thing or skate himself out of it.

It bears repeating- if this team is serious about winning, he cannot be on this roster when the playoffs start. He is the weakest link on the team and the worst player by ALOT.

My favorite dynamic is him always being open in the offensive zone in the rare times the puck gets there with him on the ice. Unfortunately, he is left wide open for obvious reasons.
