I wanted the Sens to take him at 21 so there's that. I also wanted the Sens to take DeBrusk at 18.

I've seen DeBrusk live numerous times being a Warrior's season ticket holder.. I also attend a few games in Swift Current when a team like Everette or Portland comes by...

The kid is an absolute work horse! Great hustle, intelligent, and scoring ability. I think he'll develop into a solid 20-20 - 25-25 F.

I think this guy will be the best player out of the three that the Bruins selected in the first round when all is said and done.

Our fan base does not need these low blows right now :sarcasm:

I have not seen this guy play and am thus obviously not a good judge. Stat sheet is not everything, but I do find it concerning that a first rounder in a deep draft was not able to force his way into the top six. Have any first rounders in recent years come from junior teams playing in their bottom six?

I know they pick Senyshyn with the 15th but it's more Zboril who you have to look at your replacement for Hamilton. It's only a matter of orders here ! Maybe Senyshyn it's more for the Lucic deal. But btw i also take Barzal and Connor before him.I just want to give the kid a chance maybe he will turn good like Pastrnak.

He's a good player and I'm sure he's happy right now but I kind of feel bad for the kid with how much pressure will be put on him to live up to a mid 1st hype instead of mid 2nd where he was expected to go.

"Zachary Senyshyn is an absolutely elite skater, and might be the fastest skater in the draft class. He told Yahoo sports that he has been working with Ottawa Senators skating coach Mark Power since he was 13 years old, and it definitely shows in his game. He has a powerful stride that generates great speed, and the acceleration to reach that top speed in just a few steps. He also has the strength and balance to fight through a check and drive to the front of the net.
This allows Senyshyn to take defenders wide off the rush, and cut to the front of the net. He is deadly when he catches a defender flat footed in the neutral zone and will be behind them before they know it.

The balance also allows Senyshyn to win battles along the boards and to establish position in front of the net. The only downside in Senyshyn’s skating is his agility and edgework. He could work on maintaining his speed while making sharp cuts, and changes in direction to be even more dangerous. This area of his game is not that bad, it just doesn’t live up to the speed and power.

Bruins wanted speed and power in a kid over 6'0", they got him.

I feel like his ceiling is Max Paccioretty. good size, great speed, great at putting the puck in the net

This is correct. He isn't anywhere near ready. He is a project.

Why didn't Bos draft Svechnikov if they wanted a big fast winger?

Seny never gives up on a play, no matter what the scoring is, he has elite skating(was one of the fastest skaters in this years draft) and plays style Sweeney wants Boston to play.

Our scouts were really high on him and convinced Sweeney to pick him and they did a great job in 2014, so have to give them a chance. We know Seny is a project and is not expected to break into NHL soon.

Greyhound watcher, he's not nearly as good as McCann or Ritchie for perspective. Probably our second best forward this year..

Don't expect much here

Our OHL guy is guessing that Seny will be the Captain next year.

You know, that's actually a pretty good point. The Bruins turned a coup picking Pastrnak so late so they deserve a little benefit of the doubt. I still don't like the picked but I think it's more justifiable for that reasons

He's basically Jake Virtanen without the physical play, which is still a pretty good player.

They also found Heinen from the 4th round who exploded last year and was our top prospect this summer.

I also was sure we were going to pick different forwards but I like what he can bring, Seny is a player that needs years to develop and see what we got on him.

point totals aren't everything....but...you'd at least expect him to be at a PPG pace. 15 points in 20 games isn't something to be impressed with. The guy was drafted to score and put points up and for someone in his 2nd full year who obviously Boston thought very highly of that they drafted him in the 1st round, you expect him to put up better totals than that so far.

Also it's not like the kid is small either, he's 6 ft 1 and 192 pounds, he should be dominating games.

Virtanen was a PPG player in his last 2 junior seasons, he isn't anywhere near that.

Virtanen played 4 seasons in juniors. In Virtanen's second year he scored 34 points in 62 games.

Senyshyn is in his second year. He has 15 pts in 20 games so far.

Someone has an agenda and hates Sweeney..haha jeez

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if Senyshyn has atleast one more year in Junior after this season. I believe they took him knowing he needs time, like most prospects.

How about that?

If you're going to count 2011-2012 as Virtanen's first season then you have to count 2013-2014 as Senyshyn's 1st season and he's now in his 3rd season.
