27 pts in 27 gp to start the season, just 4 pts in his last 16 gp... what's the deal?

Other than Konecny and (surprisingly) Noah Cates, it's been a stretch of fits and starts for most of the Flyers' forwards. Frost scored goals in three straight games after a long drought. Foerster and Brink have also had hot and cold stretches.

Fatigue seemed to be a factor for a bit plus low ice time and inconsistent PP time. He's looked a lot better recently. Could easily have a bunch more assists if his linemates were better (he seems to catch a lot of them off guard with some of his passes).

Couturier has never had stellar offensive instincts (his 70+ point seasons were a product of the Giroux + Voracek assist machine) and the years and multiple back surgeries have really caught up to him. In recent weeks Michkov has been playing primarily with Couturier and one of Lycksell or Farabee. Those are the three lowest ES points per 60 guys on the team, so Michkov's been in a pretty tough situation for generating offense.

I think the only guys on the team who could keep up with Michkov's brain are Frost and Brink. But Brink's also a RW, and the Frost/Michkov duo is a defensive atrocity half the time, so Matvei's kind of on his own until the team finds some of those mythical "left wings" and "centers."
