Watching him give the puck and go only not to get the return pass as his idiot teammates glitch and dump the puck in the corner has been frustrating. The Flyers badly need talent but are hyper focused on guys who play the right way. Does not bode well.
This. Idk what's the refusal to play him with TK and Coots. Tippett and Frost are horrible and don't have the brain or skills to keep up with Michkov.

I think Frost can play with him. Tippett is just too much of a north south shoot first from anywhere player and he clashes with Michkov's more cerebral game. Maybe swap him with Farabee or Foerster, but Foerster's line seems to be playing well lately.

Well, at the beginning of the season we've read that Torts is stupid for playing Michkov on the left wing just to play him with Konecny. Also, that Couts is slow and it doesn't help playing with Michkov who's an average skater. And faster Frost will be better for him

Michkov had a couple of bad games, it seems like every time it happens there is always shitting on his partners and Torts in this thread.

Any chance you could show/point to some specifics of that happening? I’ve been trying to watch his game closely and haven’t noticed that being a recurring event myself.
It’s happened twice the last 2 games. Risto vs. Detroit was so bad that Anson Carter called it out during the intermission report.

Coming from a sharks fan who 1) wished at the time that we picked michkov over smith; and 2) is genuinely excited for the young talent in the league ... Friedman mentions in 32 thoughts (at 26:30) that michkov "wanted to go to PHL ... [he] worked it, and got himself to PHL". I do suspect anti-russian draft bias is potentially real, but evidence is mounting that this might not have been the only factor at play in this specific circumstance.

(this is indeed a cope: would have loved to see him in teal.)

-3 Today with 11 minutes of TOI. Also not on power play anymore. Has been quiet, I guess press box is incoming from Torts

Of course he worked it to go to philly. Execs in Anaheim, SJ, CBJ, Montreal and Arizona arent' all idiots that were tricked by the KHL contract, while hfboards goobers knew better all along.. They got the impression that the kid wasn't interested in playing for their team and felt the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. Hes a great player and I wish he went into the draft like a normal prospect but that clearly wasn't the case.

He is on PP1 even though it has been garbage with Brink and especially Drysdale added. No PP this game for the Flyers

benched in the third today. it's ironic he picked this team at the draft, as they say. wonder if he has second thoughts.
Media tells us Michkov pucks his club. But it’s only common sense to understand media makes up stuff. Michkov would have loved to play in Montreal. It’s the Mecca of hockey. All players know that. There is not better city to be a star.

But it's not just "the media". It's also his agent directly saying this. While there isn't a quote for Montreal specifically, it's the most plausible explanation for drafting a much less highly touted prospect.
