You're absolutely correctYou just wait until the 68 game mark when Flyers are bottom 3 and then go on a meaningless 14 game winning streak...lol

I wanted Boldy for the Flyers at the draft badly.... that's the one that hurts. The Flyers don't regret taking York over Caulfield. The trade back and taking York also netted them Bobby Brink who may amount to nothing but is still a promising young player. That trade did cost them Boldy though. I would have taken Boldy, but it would leave a massive hole in the defense. York is a very good second pair defenseman on a good team, he is a first pair guy on the Flyers.
Some Flyers fans do prefer Caulfield over York (not me, and I love Caulfield as a player), but I doubt anyone in management does. Good defensemen are hard to find.
York and Michkov are definitely better than Caufield and Reinbacher now though. We'll see in the future as they all develop if that changes.
I certainly agree with you that Crosby and Kucherov are better/faster skaters than Michkov and have more explosion in their game. I'm just pointed out that those guys are scoring over 100 points because of their IQ and cerebral play. Michkov is a winger version of Crosby playstyle imo, it's the closest comp i can think of and it sounds weird.Kucherov broke Larkin's speed record at the all star game. Yes his bread and butter is his IQ, but he has the burst to use when needed to exploit his iq. This is what is still missing from Michkov. Michkov doesn't need to be a great skater in terms of speed. Just be slightly above average would be enough. Right now his max speed is just average.
Crosby is strong skater and definitely had burst, again used his grit and IQ to be the best, but had the speed to use when needed.
Draisatl yes I agree, but he is a big player, so not as needed.
And my point is for Michkov to reach the 100 plus point mark consistently, the ONLY thing he needs from a physical standpoint is just added speed. The stickhandling, shooting technique, passing, vision, edgework, strength on puck, angle creation he has in spades.I wanted Boldy for the Flyers at the draft badly.... that's the one that hurts.

To be clear, i'm not saying he's as good as Sid, he's not. i'm talking play style.
Did he really ? I’ve always thought of him as a sneaky good skater but this surprised me ( Kuch )Kucherov broke Larkin's speed record at the all star game. Nikita Kucherov? Brayden Point? He will be good in the regular season and be shutdown in playoffs due to his small size. McQueen is the guy
Ty totally forgot this happenedTampa Bay Lightning F Nikita Kucherov Beats Dylan Larkin’s Fastest Skater Record (Video)
He may not have come home with top honors, Tampa Bay Lightning F Nikita Kucherov wasted no time breaking records at the NHL All-Star Skills Competition.boltsbythebay.com
Larkin: 13.172 secs
Kucherov: 13.160 secs
McDavid (winner): 13.020 secs
He's definitely looked a bit fatigued the last few games, but that's not surprising. He's not used to playing this much hockey, and he plays the game hard and heavy. His style involves lots of stops and starts and puck battles down low. That was without a doubt imo Michkovs weakest game so far in the NHL. Looked lost out there with almost every second pass a giveaway. Had nevertheless a big chance with 6 minutes left in the 3rd to close the game but didn't manage to get a shot on goal. Besides improving his skating he should really work on or try to play more simple… especially while defending in his own zone.
Hope he still wins rookie of the month.
People don't remember how dominant he was before injuries/agingYeah he was super slow there when he skated through the entire team.
Crosby was one of the most explosive skaters in the league when he first came onto the scene. Watch the highlights of his 2nd season I posted above.
You are leaving out the story of Demidov's season so far: the spiteful usage by his coach.
He played 1 game lolAnd you leave out (or are ignorant to) the bit about Michkov's season when he had pneumonia, twice, and his spiteful usage by said same coach prior to being loaned.
He played 1 game lol
