How are we supposed to compare their NHL production exactly?

That I agree. Demidov is a bit superior to Michkov. Both are future superstars though
I repeat he’s still behind Michkov per game pace . You can try to extrapolate it to per minute to prop your guy up but that’s not how it works … you don’t automatically add x amount of pts to make up for the minutes discrepancy. Players actually need to achieve said totals . His season is impressive; totally agree but let’s stick to what each has actually done rather then if / might / projection etc ..

How much has that third line generated outside of demidov’s goals or primary assists? Not much. He also don’t see the ice on the PP.

A similar example would be to say Rasmus Kapari should have similar production to Michkov because he’s a third liner on a team that is on pace for 369 GF and 82-0 while Philly is on pace for 246 goals and 61 points

Their usage is too different to make any direct comparison.

Michov was receiving solid ice time and PP usage on Sochi, but was likely facing the opponents' top players. Demidov is receiving restricted minutes and no PP time on SKA, but is likely facing mostly KHL depth guys.

Sochi is SKA farm team. There is no universe in which Michkovs last season was better than Demidov this year.

And a much higher scoring team / surrounding talent ^^. There should be an asterix regardless

Exactly . So he had far less talent to work with . Glad we agree. Even still; behind Michkov and Kaprizov paces .

That only serves to bolster Michkov's case.

If Sochi is the B team, Michkov was playing with talent exponentially worse than what Demidov has. Plus Michkov, as a top Sochi guy, was facing the opposition's best players while Demidov, as a 3-4th line guy on SKA, isnt.

That is a weird argument. If that was the case, we would see that the best scorer is some 3rd liner from a top team, especially in a league like KHL which is a league with little parity

Does Demidov get easier matchups? I would say so, but does it negate the fact that he is getting limited usage compared to Michkov? Absolutely not

Funny, I wouldn't even argue against Michkov>Demidov talentwise, but the Cathedral of Michkovism just keeps coming with this crazy stuff lol

He had less talent to work with, much more ice time and much less responsibility. When it comes to PPG being in Demidov situation is much more tough than being in Michkov situation.

Wow. When character disput ended because it looks silly now, Michkov/Reinbacher disput ended because for obvious reasons that were obvious from the beginning, this thread is starting to face pts per minute disput about Michkov and Demidov. Both played different roles for different teams against different competition. Both are great, both will have different environment in NHL,.

If Demidov will produce more points or same amount of points or less points - they are different players in different circumstances. Hughes was historically stupid to not draft Michkov, he was very lucky to have opportunity to draft Demidov next year. Both should be second overall obviously, both were drafted lower because they are smallish wingers.

We can argue about how great both will be, Jackets still could not draft Michkov because of lack of centers - they had nothing. Ducks? Ducks don’t draft Russians from Russia, they don’t draft small players(look at their drafts in the first round in the last 20 years), it’s just is what it is. SJ? That was not a good decision. Mtl? Yeah, we are facing fans with Stockholm syndrome on every page. Arizona? Bad decision but they didn’t have any defensemen, there were rumors about them especially that Michkov doesn’t want to play for them. He said by himself he would play for them if they would draft him. Anyway still not a good decision.

We can focus on Michkov and his game for Flyers and move on from the draft day.
Of course we should learn something from it. What is the lesson? Draft BPA.

Also, isn't it just funny, how the same people that are making the argument that "Demidov is playing against worse opposition" were making claims about "historical season from Michkov" when the guy literally scored like 40% of his points in end season games against the worst team in the league, who were playing a chinese goalie))

Nice to see you here. In case you wanted to know, Michkov scored on an NHL goalie last night, it’s okay to let the whole Chinese goalie thing go now.

Dude, you clearly have no f***ing clue what you are talking about and keep on doubling down on your pathetic takes. Do you even watch flyers games? Just watch a few games and then come here and throws these hypothetical comparisons.

What it has to do with anything? How is watching flyers games relevant to comparison between Demidov and Michkov in their D+1? Or about Michkov in his draft year?

Stop bickering. We’re 17 minutes from Michkov’s first game against the Habs.

Was kinda anticlimactic, not going to lie I'm a little disappointed considering the hype. Thanks to the flyers for passing on Caufield though. I know he's not Michkov, but that was a swing and miss as well. (happens in every draft) Should of atleast had a hattrick tonight.

Going by this thread this surely must have been Matvei's worst game of the season no? I was honestly expecting more.

It's unfortunate, the kid's a player, I was looking forward to see him do his thing. I'm sure I'll get the full experience next time.

I could only catch the first period and change at work, yeah he had a piss poor game, his passing was real bad tonight lol. Caufield had himself a game. The flyers as a team are absolutely putrid, I think we’ll beat you out in having the shittier record this year lmao.

Ive watched him all 9 games and this game along with the opener were his 2 worst. That being said, he is getting a little overhyped right now but its just the euphoria and quite understandable.

I still see him getting 50-60 pts this year and then start to take off next year with more experience, strength, endurance, and hopefully speed.

His ES play while good, is still limited by his lack of explosiveness so he won't pop out of the screen right now drawing oohs and aahhs. He's doing good work once the offense settles in the zone. Transition offense is lacking due to his skating but more importantly the lack of good passing from the back end.

But the skill level is very much there, he has Hart trophy level skill, but he won't put all that together this year. He has definite 100++ potential in the future if he refines his overall game most importantly his skating.

It's a new way of watching the flyers this year.

When Michkov is out on the ice, I root for his success. When the other lines are out, I root for the opposing team. Caufield goal brought out a smile 😂😁😂.

The '25 draft can't get here soon enough.

Hopefully Philly lands a top 3 pick, but we all know they’re picking 9th lol 😆
