Eh. How many career games has he played on the big ice as opposed to NHL sized ice? The big ice isn't an advantage for him. If anything thats an advantage for Kakko right now since hes been playing on it his entire life.
On the other hand, I think that Kakko's game is very well suited for small ice and he'll benefit from the transition.

Id say max 1-2 more. If any. Little girl just was a shadow and the other kid a beast.

Should tone down my bash of huge the magnificent.

But at the same time you guys do this To us and find nothing wrong with that.

Im just trying to enjoy the Steven a Smith type of understand in this board has.

Love and peace

Well clearly you are uninformed, because Kakko led finnish forwards in icetime where Hughes had the lowest on team USA. Homer goggles are blinding today I guess? also i only understand like 20% of this post

When you are as good skater as Hughes, bigger ice is always advantage over smaller ice. He was also just in u18 where they also played in bigger ice.
Again, comparing 10 games to a lifetime. Better skater doesn't automatically = better on bigger ice. European teams also defend the ice much differently than north american teams. Its a different game.

Lets see the facts experts analyZe the shit out if his boardgame. Not at all important now. For some reason. Come game time again and lets see.

I just want some' hockey press' To try To negate this pefrormance against the golden gir... Mr Hughes.

Interesting podcast. Among everything talked already hundreds of times, most interesting part in their talks was that they considered culture shock following Kaapo's move to NYC/NJ going to be the most difficult part of his future adaptation to NHL environment.

Young guy from Finland (yes Turku is little remote village compared to NY) alone in the big apple, without friends, family, etc.

They maybe right. Luckily neither NYR or NJD are Oilers, regardless of whom pick him I think there will be adequate support to make it easier for him to make successful transition.

You may be right, but like anyone else there is going to be an adjustment period.

It's more like men defend the ice much differently from juniors, in my eyes. It's a lot more disciplined, blown assignments are rarer. Usually something unexpected needs to happen.

I'd like to know what he actually said. If it was "I strengthened my position" it could also be translated with one more 'a', i.e. "vankistin asemaAni", which immediately is way less arrogant.

To those not familiar with the subtleties of the Finnish language and the partitive case, the difference is that of eventuality. Basically "I secured my position" vs "I made my position stronger".

This makes no sense to me still... Enjoy watching Hughes walk up on stage with the number one pick though. Clearly it will be a life altering moment for you, Mr. Kakko

Kakkos father is likely going to go with him. Because Laine and Barkov also had their parents (mothers) in there, but Kakkos dad said in interview that he will go with Kaapo if Kaapo wants him there.

Even in that case, Hughes has played 3 games against this level of competition. Realllly need to pump the brakes a bit here. Kakko was great today and has been all tournament. I'm ok with the devils taking either one right now, I just see hughes as the better player long term, and Kakko as the better player right now. I don't think the devils are winning the cup next year so... I'm sure they are going to draft for potential. Hughes will be the pick.

I most sincearly hope he gets the big lights vs the swamp.

If you still dont grasp it, i revel in your insecurity.

And this matchup will be one To fuel my mirth for a lenghty while :DD

I'd consider this player 1st overall but that's none of my business.

I think here's a problem.

Tps played HPK in the playoffs, the champs.
Kakko was the best player and Mr Tps.
Even HPK guys admitted that.

How many x teams fans watched those playoff games?

Kakko enters the Worlds and keeps dominating.
Still there shouldn't be any arguments for Hughes vs Kakko because it would be based on 3 games and you don't change 1sts so late.

Well excuse me, this is only late if you didn't bother to check on the guy post WJC.

With that said I'd be mad if he went to New Jersey. But's Let's stop this arrogant garbage and admit Kakko deserves to be at the very top of the rankings, next to Hughes.

I was only able to watch second period while at work and that kid is just something else.

I did watch him quite a bit in Liiga and I didn't expect him to be this good at this tournament. He can be dominant on ice. I can only imagine how happy people are at rangers management
I would be nervous in Rangers office if New Jersey wants to take Kakko after all.
