Dumais might break his teams single season record too. Only 32 points back. Bedard is currently 87 points back. Makes you think…

Its very impressive but he's also a year older playing on a memorial cup contender vs Bedard dragging his team to the playoffs
I don't think anyone claims that Dumais is more impressive than Bedard (Bedard of course also has significantly fewer games played), but there is good reason to be excited about Dumais, especially for CBJ fans.

He’s such a difficult prospect to project. His hockey IQ is incredible, his #1 asset by far. Also an excellent passer, very precise, great saucer passes too. Very good hands as well. However … small, not very fast/explosive, shot is just OK, doesn’t play with a lot of pace. Surprisingly unflashy for a 5’9” player who scores so much.

Honestly, he could end up anywhere from ~Kucherov to ~Petan. Maybe the biggest wildcard of any currently drafted prospect.

I think that's all basically true. But his athleticism can be sneaky good. Like on this first goal, he goes from near standstill to cutting across the net powerfully and quickly.

I had another play in mind where he stole the puck and dangled a few guys for a goal, and it was a remarkable display of body control. But I can't find the clip. I'm not 100% sure that he won't be the next Petan, but I like Dumais' strength and athleticism more.

I think at 1:33 in this video is what you're talking about;

He looks to have picked up some extra gears speed-wise this season. I noticed he's really improved first few steps too, as it appears he's now covering more ice with less effort in his stride.

Added 10lbs of muscle in the offseason, last I heard. Looking the part of a stronger and faster player this season. His wrist shot seems to be even more dangerous now too.

"Just working on my stride," Dumais said to NHLdotcom. "I definitely feel better and faster, but it’s also from getting bigger in the gym and maturing too."

Speaking on the Traverse City Tournament:
"Everyone's bigger, faster, and you go on the ice with them and you realize it's a bit different," he said. "Faster, stronger, and everyone's mature. I know it wasn't an NHL game, but when you go into one of those games you realize what it's like. The pace of the game, it's obviously a lot different than junior hockey. You go into the game just learning and just watching them but even being on the ice changes you a lot."

Kid had an extraordinary game yesterday. Puck was glued to his stick all game. Couple snipes. Elite passing. Very impressive.
The kid is stupid gifted in IQ. The puck follows him. I am only concerned about his skating and I hope it can translate to the pro level. It wont be easy

120 point mark.

Last 120 point (or more) player in a single season in the Q?
Conor Garland, 128 points (62 games) in 15-16 season
and 129 points (67 games) in 14-15 season

Last 120 point (or more) 18 year old player in a single season in the Q?
- there were 3 players in 99-00 season; Gamache (143), Thinel (132),
Reid (124)

Last 120 point (or more) 17 year old player in a single season in the Q?
Sidney Crosby, 168 points (62 games), in 04-05 season.

Last 120 point (or more) 16 year old player in a single season in the Q?
Sidney Crosby, 134 points (59 games), in 04-05 season.

---

so Jordan Dumais became the first 18 year old 120 point player in the QMJHL in over 20 years.

He won't... He'll be skating next to Bedard in Columbus.
Extremely doubtful. There's not any openings on the wings are we are expecting to get multiple NHL caliber players back next season including Texier and Danforth, on top of others competing for that spot with guys like Voronkov, Foudy and Bemstrom.

Dumais would have to have the most impressive camp and preseason to even be considered to make it on the team through camp. Wish we could send him overseas to play against men.

Dumais > Texier
Dumais >> Danforth

In 2017, only few Hawks fans believed DeBrincat would make it.

I would be shell shocked if Dumais
doesn't play for Blue Jackets top 9
next season

Dude is that good.
You can easily see that.
