He needs to stay in Ottawa his entire career. It'd be ironic if Ottawa gets him with the NYI pick. Shipping out a local talent in Pageau and getting back a local talent in Quinn.

If we need to trade up to 10-12 to get him, we need to do it.

Just responding to the value of etiquette that was presented to me. Agreed on your assesment.
You have to admit, you do seem to get your back up in response to anyone who says something potentially negative about Quinn.

Back to Quinn, I really do like his skill set and see him as a solid NHL scoring winger with upside for me. To me that video makes it clear too. But I'm not sure Sens fans should get too excited about him given he'll be long gone by the Isles pick most likely. But if he does drop into the teens, that is certainly a trade up price worth considering. But a lot of intriguing guys in the 10-20 range, so tough to pay a big price.

Great work again. I liked the "whoop!" sound effects. :)

I have Quinn at 9th. He's my favourite player in the draft.

At first I had the Whoop, Stupidddd, Whooop.. but I decided to be more of a gentleman and remove the *stupid* when the player was junked headfirst into the board ahah

Wow just saw his stats and he had 52 goals in 62 games this year. His numbers are probably slightly boosted playing on tbay stacked Ottawa team but regardless that's an impressive goal total. I'm hoping we (the devils) wind up with one of Holtz , Perfetti , Quinn or Jarvis with one of our picks in the 1st round. We need a pure shooter in our system. Nolan Foote was a great add but we need more players like that.

So what about his size? Based on his EP profile, he’s 5’11. But sounds (not only Button comments) like he’s already 6’0-6’1. Where is true?
And which type of goal scorer he is? Arsenal of lethal shots or he uses his mix sense of goal and rebound/deflection abilities?

I've interviewed him after games twice and he was no longer in skates. I'd guess 6'0". 5'11" at worst.

(Probably in my top 10 player interviews ever too FWIW)

Holloway has a higher floor, Quinn has a higher ceiling. Overall I'd take Quinn.

Quinn has both the higher ceiling and floor for me.

I'll make one prediction, he'll be ranked a lot higher on Bob McKenzie's final list. I could not believe he was so low on Bob's January list. We had him 11th back on Jan 16th.

Yeah, I now think the same. I've cooled a bit on Holloway and Quinn keeps rising for me. I believe I had Quinn at 9th in my final rankings.

He used to be my top target for the Oilers this draft, but it looks like there's very little chance he falls to us.

Could you add to this?

From what I've seen and heard, he seems like a really good kid. Just curious what you specifically liked about him. I could see him being Ottawa's captain next season.

Yeah I'd say little as in zero chance IMO. Saw a tweet by an Edmonton media guy a week or so ago, think it was something like a 'possible Oilers target'. Umm no.

Aside from just being a very likeable kid, Jack was intelligent, polite and gave great answers to my questions. It was more than just a 5 minute chat..probably closer to 20 minutes mostly because he kept asking me questions.

I try to find out how the players see themselves - how do they self evaluate their own game? IMO, he nailed his own game. He knew what he lacked last year and improved on it. He also asked me a bunch of questions about his game (without me asking him if he had any questions for me) which is not common. They were intelligent questions. I won't go into detail because I tell players that it's not an interview that I will go public with all the details of our discussion (much like an NHL team scouts doesn't) - My second chat was very informal and much shorter - Part of it was that I joked with him that I had told our scouts he must've taken my advice from our first conversation because he went on a tear after that first chat. (1st interview was after the game vs Gatineau in Ottawa - 2nd chat was after Top Prospects game )

I loved his game last season and mentioned that to our guys a few times last year, so he's given me a chance to remind our guys of that plenty of times this year. lol

Easy kid to root for.

Hope we wind up with him at #10 with the Coyotes pick. Thats if we can't land Holtz at #6. The Devils flat out need to walk away from this draft with atleast 1 legitimate goal scoring blue chip player.
