Indeed, but... i don't trust NHL central scouting measurement skills, at all, they have ****** up so many times in the past
- besides, officially (Eliteprospects.com,NHL.com,Coyotes.com,db...), he is listed at 5 foot 10, so....cry me a river lol.
Elite prospects does not measure players.

Having a great season in the NHL this year (20 goals, 35 points in 61 games, averaging just over 14 mins a game)

He's on pace for 27 goals and 47 points this year

Is this season an aberration or is he legitimately a top six forward in the NHL going forward and won't look back?

Arizona fans are definitely admiring him this season that’s for sure

As long as he stays healthy (he takes a lot of awkward hits due to his size) he is a top 6 forward for sure. He drives his line. Adding Hall gave him someone that could read the play like he does.

He’s a work ethic player

this is the first ever draft pick for Chayka. Apparently Maloney threw him a selection back in 2015 when he was an assistant GM. He used his “system” to identify Garland as a potential NHL player. Craig Morgan wrote an article on it for the Athletic.

I think labeling him a work ethic player kind of glosses over the fact that he's insanely skilled with the puck.

Anyways, he's legit top six. My favourite Coyote.

His "system" must love guys that score a lot in junior and border between fearless and nuts. the secret sauce for success.

*opens laptop up to EP, sorts all draft eligible players by pts and sees the top name*

"My system identifies this player as a potential NHL player"

When a league scoring leader had 21 more points than the next closest guy, hasn't been picked by the 5th round, you might as well take him.
To be fair, that was the second year he was draft-eligible, after he got completely skipped over in 2014.

For players that are standard deviations away from average(up or down) you need similar deviations above average scoring for the player to translate at the next level.

Very good player I think he gets 40 goals someday.

20 goals before the season is even over for the Coyotes is basically 40 goals with any other team.

He got demoted to play with Kessel and wasn't super thrilled with it, delivered two goals. Playing LW as a RHS paid off.

Is he getting better and better with each new season?

Right now those 2015 5th round picks look not shabby with Garland, Kaprizov, Bear.

And there are Simon, Terry, Balcers, Gaudette, Jaros each (save Balcers with his 51 games) with 80+ NHL games played.

Nice 5th round, I'd say.

Yes, he has played like a legit star so far this season. Lets see if he can keep it up
