Just wait and see how he progresses. If he does very well in college next year, then he may be get a chance right away or at least given a try at the AHL level. Benning said he thinks 2 years i believe. By the 3rd year the Canucks should have a grasp on how good or bad Boeser is, and will ultimate decide what to do with him. It's not like you have to wait 4 years to make a decision.

I liked this pick, as an Islanders fan I wanted him to fall a bit so Islanders might be able to trade up and get him with their 33rd pick. Sort of reminds me of Okposo

Justin Schultz
Kevin Hayes
Mike Rielly

anyone else I'm missing?

Completely overblown
Yep.
Mike Reilly was a 4th rounder and Schultz a 2nd rounder. Hayes is the only one who was an actual 1st rounder.

But, either way, that is a really stupid loophole that exists in the CBA.
From a fans perspective, you should never have to worry about a draft pick jumping ship by simply waiting out his 4 years.

It's not a loophole. It's an agreed upon rule.

Well then it's a stupid agreed-upon loophole ;)

As a canucks fan I am happy with this pick. Benning seems to be trying to draft bigger, but not at a total sacrifice of skill. Excited to find out more about this kI'd

Kevin Hayes personal advisor to Brock Boeser.

This is a threat, and a real one!!!

Risk avoidance strategy

#1 Immediately if not sooner; Trade the rights to Boeser to the Sens for Colin Greening.

Why risk it?

Selfishly enough I wish he would go play WHL with Seattle and join a impressive group highlighted by Mathew barzal and Ryan gropp... seattle currently owns his rights

Can't see it happening but I guess u never know

Shouldve drafted Novak. Those 2 have played together since 11 and probably could've convinced both to go to the same College.

Boeser had plenty of time to pick the U. A team pushing a kid to a certain college? Now that would make me want to go to free agency.
