Not me. He was an overager. I would have been ecstatic if he turned into a decent 4th liner for us. It was clear watching him he likely wouldn't make it as a top 6 guy in the NHL.. The fact is Brock is doing this all as a freshman in a league harder than the Canadian junior leagues, which has a much higher focus on defense, playing against kids much older. It's a completely different situation than Fox.

I'm not here to judge you individually. Heck, I'm pretty sure i didn't even quote you to begin with. I was generalizing the Canuck fan base. The Dane Fox is not a comparable to Boeser. It's just an example how the Canuck fan base is.

Please do it rationally. Again. Every opinion is different. Just because they have a different opinion doesn't mean they are wrong. Most of these kids are 19, and haven't touched the NHL for anyone to know what they are going to do.

Relax, and don't freak out. It's a just a hockey board. My opinion on everything mostly is neutral. I don't understand people who actually get worked up over these things. It's comical.

You've told me to relax like 5 times now and I'm calm as can be. I think it's truly you that needs to relax, and not get so worked up over people getting excited over a prospect. It's a game. It's entertainment. Boeser is entertaining. Thank you.

This has turned into a posing match.

Boeser had 5 points in 2 games over the weekend.

Can we talk about that, or his play instead of the other garbage.

If that's what makes you happy. Fine. Think whatever. I had a nice laugh at this. Canuck fans are entertaining.

I'm glad you got some entertainment out of text on a message board. I'll continue to get excited and entertained by my boy Brock. Thank you!

Anyways, back to Brock. This kid is a studddddddddddddddddddddd.

Like. A total stud.

Did I say he was a stud yet?

Didn't make fun of him... Just questioned why he'd have those types of prospects ahead of Brock if it's judging how they're doing right NOW in a redraft. That's what the whole point was. This is an online hockey forum dedicated to prospects... You're allowed to judge peoples' prospect rankings and argue about prospects... Or like Icebreakers said, what's the point?

So what's your redraft?

So, who here actually seen the kid play? Or are most of the guys just looking at highlights/stat sheets? I'll be honest. I use to follow a lot of prospects, but i just haven't had the time, so since I haven't seen enough. I'm not going to put in an opinion on him or any other prospects. I don't think i have the right to, so i won't.

With the Canucks throwing their prospects into the fire, this year. Anyone think they'll just throw Boeser in the NHL with the Twins next year for the heck of it? Is he ready? Few years away? People who seen him play only, otherwise. It just doesn't make sense to have an opinion, for those who haven't seen em play.

Message McWTG. He's definitely seen the most of him out of any Canucks fans here. I've watched a fair amount of him but on low quality streams, and the amount I've seen of him and his everyday plays leads me to believe the hype is real. He drives play and makes chances on his own, as well as making those around him better. He is far from a passenger.. But again, WTG will have a much better scouting report on the small intricacies of his game.

How do you take Carlo over Boeser?

If you are confused to why I have Carlo ahead of Boeser, you probably know very little about Carlo. A number of the players I have ahead of Boeser are probably around the same tier and there'd be a good argument for him over those players, but drafts aren't done in tiers, so you have to make decisions, and thats personally what I'd have it as. To really answer your question, I like Carlo's projection to the NHL better, and he's impressed me more from what I've seen this season.

Does it really matter if someone has Boeser as their 18th best prospect from the 2015 draft or 23rd best prospect? Boeser wasn't picked that far away from where he'd probably be in a re-draft. If you disagree with that, I don't know what to tell you.

I think a lot of the talk about Boeser now centers around how so many people didn't know about him prior to the draft and how good of a job the Canucks did with doing their homework on a player who was talented enough to be picked where he was, despite having little fanfare surrounding him. A lot of people simply just didn't know about him. I'm sure there are tons of Canuck fans who were mad about this pick because it wasn't a name they had heard of, and are now happy with it.

In terms of level of prospect not style, if you're a GM who do you pick?
You take Laine over Boeser and its not even a discussion, Laine has all the high end traits Boeser has (elite shot, able to find weakspots to recieve a pass in scoring position) but is a better skater and has elite size. Laine probably goes 3rd in last years draft if re-done today and this is coming from someone who thinks 2015 is much superior to the 2016 class.

Yeah this is spot on, but not a fair comparison.

What has Carlo done since his draft that warrants him going 14 or more spots ahead in a redraft? I haven't seen much of him but I'm struggling to find something that warrants Carlo going ahead of Boeser.

I'm not saying you can't have that opinion, and you may be right on who ends up being the better player, but I'm not seeing it.

Agreed, its not fair at all to Boeser who is a good prospect in his own right, if we were comparing him to the 2016 guys it'd be more fair to put him against Bellows or Gauthier, or if looking higher up Tkachuk and Nylander.

This is the same tone you took when you were declaring everyone to be idiots because they didn't agree with you that Patrick White was a future second line centre or whatever.

I think you are making a mistake saying that the prospect picked 37th in the draft has to do something above and beyond to prove himself as better than the guy picked 23rd.

Carlo has had a good season in the WHL and was one of the best defenseman at the WJC. Some had him as a late first and some had him as an early 2nd, he went early 2nd. What if their draft positions were reversed? What would be your reaction to my opinion? I like what I've watched of him more than what I've watched of Boeser, thats good enough for me to have 37th over 23rd. Besides, the gap between 23rd and 37th is usually very small anyway, and its not like I said #200 is better than #10.

I'm not an NHL scout that has to convince a GM to pick a player. I hope you accept my reasoning, but its not that important that you do. Its my opinion, and time will tell.

Thanks for your input. I'm still trying to gauge how good Boeser is going to be.

He doesn't dignify responding.

Guy's a hack who is as spineless as he is controversial. That's all that needs to be said.

He couldn't have a strong opinion if he curled 100 pounds.
